BFAST — Burlington For Accessible, Sustainable Transit — and seven other community organizations are sponsoring Burlington’s second annual Transit Users’ Forum, tomorrow, Saturday, April 2, 10 a.m. in the Burlington Central Library on New Street. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for a free continental breakfast.
This year, BFAST will present its transit report card. It’s reporting on ideas that attendees suggested during last year’s event for improving transit and how Burlington Transit has implemented them.
Mayor Rick Goldring, three city councillors and Burlington MPP Eleanor McMahon attended last year’s discussion. They heard suggestions, praise and criticism from nearly 100 transit users. The groups have also invited local politicians to this year’s event.
Generally, organizers are recommending that you register to attend before the event, so we apologize for being late in posting this information. You can register here.
Note that, due to construction on New Street, Burlington Transit is detouring buses operating along the 10 New - Maple route, which would usually provide transit service near the library.
Instead, BT is offering a shuttle-bus service. Buses leave the Downtown Burlington Transit Terminal on John Street at 9, 9:15, 9:30 and 9:45 a.m. Buses return from the library at 12:10 and 12:25 p.m. Regular fares apply.
