Lansdowne overpass construction:
TTC detours, April 15 to 18

The City of Toronto is closing:

  • Lansdowne Avenue between Shirley Street and Rideau Avenue

this weekend to accommodate Metrolinx construction at the bridge over Lansdowne this weekend, part of the project to introduce regional express rail service along all GO train corridors.

The overpass carries GO Transit and Union Pearson Express trains over Lansdowne Avenue.

The TTC is detouring buses operating along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 47 Lansdowne.

It’s detouring the buses from 6 p.m. Friday, April 15 until 6 a.m. Monday, April 18.

Metrolinx says it’s continuing to replace three spans on the north side of the bridge and upgrading the bridge abutments.

They worked first on the west-side abutments and then the east-side. This weekend, they’re installing the bridge spans.

UP Express has notified riders that it’s decreasing service this weekend “because of bridge work near Bloor Station” — quite likely this bridge.

Metrolinx construction activities on the bridge during the Georgetown South project resulted in the TTC detouring the buses:

More recently, the regional express rail project required the TTC to detour the buses:
