TTC installing new PRESTO fare gates
at St Clair Station, starting April 15

Update — Thursday, July 14, 6:01 p.m.: Construction has ended and passengers are using the new fare gates.

The TTC is installing new PRESTO fare gates at all rapid transit stations until mid-2017. It recently opened the new gates at Main Street Station, while crews continue working to install them in Bay, Sherbourne and Wellesley stations. St Clair Station is next.

Since St Clair has four entrances, TTC crews are staggering the work.

St Clair Centre entrance

From 6 p.m. tonight, Friday, April 15 until 6 a.m. Monday, April 18, the TTC is closing this entrance. You must enter the station through the Scotiabank entrance at 1 St. Clair Avenue East, the station’s main entrance off St. Clair Avenue East or through the Pleasant Boulevard entrance.

Scotiabank entrance, 1 St. Clair Avenue East

Starting 7 p.m. Friday, April 29, the TTC will close this entrance. When it reopens the entrance, you can no longer buy or use tokens at this location. You can only enter the station at this site with a PRESTO card or TTC Metropass. If you use tokens, tickets or cash, you must enter the station through the main entrance, the St Clair Centre entrance or the Pleasant Boulevard entrance.

Work at the Scotiabank entrance continues “until mid-May”, or until May 20.

St. Clair Avenue East main entrance

Starting Monday, May 9, this entrance remains open but you can’t buy TTC fares from the collector booth. You can only access this entrance with a token, ticket, TTC Metropass or exact cash fare. If you need to buy TTC fares, you must go to the St Clair Centre entrance across the street.

Work at the St. Clair Avenue East entrance continues “until the end of the month” or until May 31.

Pleasant Boulevard entrance

Starting 7 p.m. Thursday, May 12, the TTC is closing this entrance. You must enter the station through the main entrance off St. Clair Avenue East.

Work at the Pleasant Boulevard entrance continues “until early June” or until June 12.

The TTC is posting signs through out the station and assigning ambassadors to all entrances to help you figure out how to get around during the construction period.
