No subway service, April 23 and 24:
Kennedy to Victoria Park

TTC crews are upgrading the tracks on the 2 Bloor - Danforth subway line

  • between Kennedy and Victoria Park stations

all day Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24.

Shuttle buses replace subway service. The buses start and end their trips in the bus terminals at Kennedy and Victoria Park Stations and also drop off and pick up passengers in Warden Station terminal.

Wheel-Trans buses will operate between Kennedy and Victoria Park stations on request. You can ask a supervisor at one of these two stations for the Wheel-Trans bus.

TTC crews are replacing as much as 411 metres (1,350 feet) of heavily worn rail to maintain a safe and reliable track system. Crews will also take advantage of the closure to complete other work, including:

  • replacing switches at the Kennedy Station crossover;
  • maintaining switches between Kennedy and Warden Stations;
  • snaking drains at the Massey Creek exit west of Kennedy Station; and
  • repairing fences in open areas between Warden and Victoria Park stations.

Regular subway service resumes Monday, April 25.

The TTC previously closed this section of the subway Saturday, April 2. It hasn’t scheduled more closures for this section of the subway this year.

Shuttle-bus alternatives

Although shuttle buses replacing subway service will be frequent, they may also be crowded.

  • 20 Cliffside: buses operate between Kennedy and Main Street stations.
  • 70 O’Connor (70C branch only): buses operate between Warden and Coxwell stations.
