Industrial Parkway Aurora construction:
GO, YRT detours, starting May 2



Update — Saturday, June 11, 8:19 a.m.: Construction has ended and buses have resumed regular service.


Update — Friday, May 13, 2:05 p.m.: Construction continues until futher notice, instead of ending Monday, May 16, as the town originally announced.


Starting Monday, May 2, the Town of Aurora is closing:

  • Industrial Parkway South between Wellington Street East and Industry Street

during a project to rebuild underground roadway infrastructure.

GO Transit is detouring buses operating along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 65 Newmarket / Toronto.

York Region Transit is detouring buses operating along these routes, while the street is closed:

  • 31 Aurora North;
  • 32 Aurora South;
  • 33A Wellington.

Construction on Industrial Parkway South and the detours continue until May 16 further notice.


GO Transit
65 / 65A / 65C / 65D Newmarket / Toronto

FromStarting Monday, May 2 until Monday, May 16, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Wellington Street East and Industrial Parkway South, then detour:

eastward along Wellington East;
south- and westward along Mary Street;
northward along Industrial South and into Aurora GO Station bus terminal,
southward** along Industrial; and then
east- and northward along Mary to Wellington,
resuming their regular route eastward along Wellington.

Southbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Wellington Street East west of Mary Street.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Wellington Street East west of Mary Street.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route to Wellington Street East and Mary Street, then detour:

south- and westward along Mary;
northward along Industrial South and into Aurora GO Station bus terminal,
southward** along Industrial;
east- and northward along Mary; and then
westward along Wellington East to Industrial,
resuming their regular route westward along Wellington.

Northbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Wellington Street East at John West Way.

Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Mary Street south of Wellington Street South.

FromStarting Monday, May 2 until Monday, May 16, buses operate along their regular route to Industrial Parkway North and Wellington Street East, then detour:

eastward along Wellington East;
south- and westward along Mary Street; and then
northward along Industrial Parkway South to the entrance into Aurora GO Station bus terminal,
resuming their regular route northward into the terminal.

Buses skip their regular stop

  • on Industrial Parkway South beside Aurora GO Station.

Instead, buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Wellington Street East across from St. Maximilian Kobe Catholic High School and at Mary Street.

FromStarting Monday, May 2 until Monday, May 16, westbound buses serving Aurora GO Station operate along their regular route to Aurora GO Station, then detour:

southward along Industrial Parkway South;
east- and northward along Mary Street; and then
westward along Wellington Street East to Industrial,
resuming their regular route westward along Wellington East.

Westbound buses serve all regular stops.

They also drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Mary Street east of Industrial Parkway South and
  • on Wellington Street East west of John West Way and beside St. Maximilian Kobe Catholic High School.

Eastbound buses serving Aurora GO Station operate along their regular route to Wellington Street East and Industrial Parkway South, then detour:

eastward along Wellington East;
south- and westward along Mary Street; and then
northward along Industrial Parkway South to the entrance into Aurora GO Station bus terminal,
resuming their regular route northward into the terminal.
