Taunton Road Oshawa construction:
DRT detour, May 6 to 8



The Region of Durham and the City of Oshawa are closing:

  • Taunton Road West (Regional Road 4) between Northbrook Street and Stevenson Road

Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday morning and afternoon during a project to install a steel prefabricated pedestrian bridge.

Durham Region Transit is detouring buses operating along this route, while the street is closed:

915 Taunton

From 10 p.m. Friday, May 6 until 6 p.m. Sunday, May 8, westbound buses start their trips in the loop on the Durham College / University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) campus, then proceed:

eastward along Commencement Circle;
northward along Simcoe Street North;
westward along Conlin Road West; and then
southward along Stevenson Road North to Taunton Road West,
resuming their regular route westward along Taunton West.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Simcoe Street North south of Niagara Drive [north], across from Camp Samac, south of Niagara Drive [south], beside #1598 Simcoe North, at Cayuga Avenue and Taunton Road West and
  • on Taunton Road West at Somerville and Northbrook Streets, beside #418 Taunton West and at Stevenson Road North.

Eastbound buses reverse the westbound detour routing.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Taunton Road West beside #389 Taunton West, east of Northbrook Street and at Somerville Street and
  • on Simcoe Street North north of Taunton Road East, across from Cayuga Avenue, north of Glovers Road, beside #1601 Simcoe North and at Selleck Lane, Eastwood Avenue and Taylorwood Road.
