Two different construction projects require GO Transit to decrease service along the 01 Lakeshore West and 09 Lakeshore East lines this long weekend.
Construction on the Lakeshore West line does not affect weekend service to and from Niagara Falls, since those trains operate along a different set of tracks.
Connecting GO buses and local transit buses operate with their regular schedules.

09 Lakeshore East
Saturday, May 21, Sunday, May 22 and Victoria Day, Monday, May 23
- GO is decreasing train service along the entire line from every 30 minutes to every hour as GO continues to upgrade Guildwood GO Station.
- Westbound trains leave Oshawa GO Station only at 41 minutes past each hour. GO is canceling all trains that usually leave Oshawa station at 11 minutes past each hour.
- Eastbound trains leave Union Station only at 13 minutes past each hour. GO is canceling all trains that usually leave Union at 43 minutes past each hour.
01 Lakeshore West
The Town of Oakville has closed:
- Fourth Line between South Service Road and Speers Road
as part of a project to build new concrete curbs and sidewalks, install new storm sewers and catch basins and new asphalt pavement. The project also includes widening and building a new level rail crossing, where the roadway meets GO’s rail line.
To accommodate work on the rail crossing, GO is decreasing service along the line.
Friday, May 20:
- GO is canceling the eastbound trains that usually leave Aldershot GO Station at 8:31 and 9:31 p.m. between Aldershot and Oakville stations. The trains leave Oakville GO Station at 8:56 and 9:56 p.m., as usually.
- The westbound trains that leave Union Station at 7:13, 8:13, 9:13, 10:13 and 11:13 p.m. end in Oakville, instead of continuing to Aldershot.
Saturday, May 21, Sunday, May 22 and Victoria Day, Monday, May 23:
- GO is canceling the eastbound trains that usually leave Aldershot at 31 minutes past the hour between Aldershot and Oakville. The trains leave Oakville at 56 minutes past the hour, as usually.
- The westbound trains that leave Union Station at 13 minutes past the hour end their trips in Oakville, instead of continuing to Aldershot.
