Starting Monday, May 30, the Town of Georgina is closing:
- Lowndes Avenue between Tim Jacobs Drive and Glenwoods Avenue
to accommodate a project to install a sanitary sewer.
York Region Transit is detouring buses operating along this route, while the street is closed:
- 51 Keswick local.
Construction on Lowndes Avenue and the detour continue until June 30.

From Monday, May 30 until Thursday, June 30, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Lowndes Avenue and Wrendale Crescent, then detour:
west- and northward along Wrendale;
westward along Dovedale Drive;
southward along The Queensway South; and then
eastward along Glenwoods Avenue to Lowndes,
resuming their regular route eastward along Glenwoods.Southbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Lowndes Avenue at Atherton Crescent [south] and Glenwoods Avenue.
Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on The Queensway South at Pine Beach Drive and Glenwoods Avenue and
- on Glenwoods Avenue beside Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School and across from Lowndes Avenue.
Northbound buses operate along their regular route.
