TTC equips 178 buses with PRESTO devices

The TTC has now installed PRESTO fare-card readers on all buses operating to and from its Queensway garage. One hundred and seventy-eight TTC buses serving passengers traveling along 22 routes in the west end of the city now have the devices. Queensway is the first of the TTC’s seven bus garages to outfit its entire fleet with PRESTO.

If you travel aboard buses along these routes, you can now pay your fare tapping your PRESTO card:

  • 15 Evans;
  • 30 Lambton;
  • 37 Islington;
  • 40 Junction;
  • 44 Kipling South;
  • 45 Kipling;
  • 48 Rathburn;
  • 49 Bloor West;
  • 50 Burnhamthorpe;
  • 66 Prince Edward;
  • 73 Royal York;
  • 76 Royal York South;
  • 80 Queensway;
  • 110 Islington South;
  • 111 East Mall;
  • 112 West Mall;

  • 300 Bloor - Danforth overnight (many, but not all, buses);
  • 315 Evans - Brown’s Line overnight; and
  • 337 Islington overnight.

If you use your PRESTO when boarding these buses, but plan to connect with other TTC services, make sure you take a transfer since buses that come from other garages may not have PRESTO readers yet. PRESTO card users travelling by bus in other areas of the city must carry tokens or exact cash as the TTC rolls out PRESTO to all of its buses over the next eight months. By the end of 2016, all TTC buses will have PRESTO.

With the end of the roll-out at Queensway, staff at two more TTC garages — Arrow Road and Wilson — will start installing PRESTO in buses serving the northwest part of Toronto.
