Brampton Transit buses to serve
U of T Mississauga, starting September 6

Brampton Transit and the University of Toronto Mississauga are partnering to offer a new express bus service this fall.

This is a pilot project for the 2016 / 2017 school term. Buses travel directly between Brampton Gateway Terminal and the UTM campus near the Student Centre, without stopping. Each trip requires about 40 minutes to ride, but also trims about 30 to 40 minutes off the usual one-way travel time by public transit between the two points.

BT provides the express buses Mondays to Fridays, except for holidays:

  • from Tuesday, September 6 until Tuesday, December 20, 2016; and
  • from Monday, January 2 until Friday, April 28, 2017.

Simply pay your regular Brampton Transit fares by cash or with your PRESTO fare card.

Three buses operate Monday-to-Friday mornings and three afternoons.

Buses leave Gateway at 8, 9 and 10 a.m. and 2:50, 3:50 and 4:50 p.m. They end their trips on campus at 8:38, 9:38 and 10:38 a.m. and 3:28, 4:28 and 5:28 p.m. They leave campus at 8:40, 9:40 and 10:40 a.m. and 3:30, 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. They end their trips in Gateway terminal at 9:17, 10:17 and 11:17 a.m. and 4:17, 5:17 and 6:17 p.m.

At all other times, you can travel by regular public transit between the two destinations:

  • buses operating along Brampton Transit’s 502 Züm Main route between Brampton Gateway and Mississauga City Centre terminals; and
  • buses operating along MiWay’s 110 University MiExpress route between City Centre Terminal and U of T Mississauga.

Since this is just a pilot project, Brampton Transit and U of T Mississauga will collect ridership data to determine whether to continue, expand or cancel the route for the 2017 / 2018 term.
