Bay Street transformer move:
TTC detours, June 12

The TTC is closing the Bay streetcar tunnel as crews move a transformer early Sunday morning.

(We have searched the City of Toronto, TTC and Toronto Hydro web pages to learn more about this project, but have not successfully found more information about the move.)

The TTC is detouring streetcars and buses operating along these routes, while the tunnel is closed:

  • 317 Spadina overnight;
  • 509 Harbourfront; and
  • 510 Spadina.

Shuttle buses replace streetcars between Spadina / Queens Quay Loop and King Station.

Note that streetcars serving the 509 Harbourfront route operate to and from Fleet Loop, instead of Exhibition Loop, as this map indicates.
