Vincent Yard upgrades:
Construction continues, starting June 14

Update, Sunday, June 18 2017, 6:04 p.m.: The TTC has reopened the facility to store and maintain trains overnight.

Update — Wednesday, July 6, 9:49 p.m.: Construction continues until August 19.

TTC is upgrading Vincent (or “Keele”) subway yard so it can store more subway cars overnight.

From Tuesday, June 14 until Friday, July 8 August 19, crews are replacing light standards along the track and upgrading the power system between Indian Grove and Dorval Road. For safety reasons, crews must complete this work overnight, while the power is off and subway trains are not operating.

They’ll use a generator-powered light to illuminate sections of the yard where they’re installing new power cables. They’ll also use a concrete pump truck intermittently to install one light pole. You may hear this equipment while crews are using it.
