Bay Street transformer move:
TTC detours, June 19

The City of Toronto is closing parts of:

  • Bay Street between Wellington Street West and Queens Quay West

as crews move a transformer.

(We have searched the City of Toronto, TTC and Toronto Hydro web pages to learn more about this project, but have not successfully found more information about the move.)

The TTC is also closing the streetcar tunnel under Bay Street during the same move. It’s also detouring streetcars and buses operating along these routes, while the street and tunnel are closed:

  • 6 Bay;
  • 317 Spadina overnight;
  • 509 Harbourfront; and
  • 510 Spadina.

Shuttle buses replace streetcars between Spadina / Queens Quay Loop and King Station.

Note that streetcars serving the 509 Harbourfront route operate to and from Fleet Loop, instead of Exhibition Loop, as this map indicates.
