Honda Indy set-up:
TTC detours, June 27 to July 14



The organizers of this year’s Honda Indy Toronto are already setting up the race course, spectator and participant facilities for the annual motor race on Lake Shore Boulevard West and through Exhibition Place.

Starting 5 a.m. tomorrow, Monday, June 27, the TTC is detouring buses that operating along these routes, as crews get ready for the event:

  • 29 Dufferin;
  • 310 Bathurst overnight;
  • 329 Dufferin overnight;
  • 363 Ossington overnight (unofficial); and
  • 511 Bathurst.

The TTC continues to detour buses until 2 a.m. Thursday, July 14. The Indy takes place from Friday, July 15 until Sunday, July 17. The TTC will likely further detour buses during the event and afterwards as crews dismantle facilities.

From 5 a.m. Monday, June 27 until 2 a.m. Thursday, July 14, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Manitoba and Canada Drives, then detour:

southward along Canada Drive; and then
eastward into Princes’ Gate Loop,
ending their trips.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Princes’ Boulevard across from Newfoundland Road,
  • on Nunavut Road beside the Horse Palace and
  • on Manitoba Drive across from Exhibition Loop.

Instead, southbound buses drop off passengers at a temporary stop

  • in Princes’ Gate Loop.

Northbound buses reverse the southbound detour routing.

  • on Manitoba Drive across from Exhibition Loop.

Instead, southbound buses drop off passengers at a temporary stop

  • in Princes’ Gate Loop.
29 Dufferin

From 5 a.m. Monday, June 27 until 2 a.m. Thursday, July 14, the TTC is cancelling service along the 29C branch of the route. All buses start and end their trips in Dufferin Gate Loop, instead of Princes’ Gate Loop.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Saskatchewan Road east of Dufferin Street,
  • on Manitoba Drive at Quebec Street and Nova Scotia Avenue and across from Exhibition Loop and
  • in Princes’ Gate Loop.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • in Princes’ Gate Loop,
  • on Princes’ Boulevard across from Newfoundland Road,
  • on Nunavut Road beside the Horse Palace,

  • on Manitoba Drive west of Nova Scotia Avenue and at Saskatchewan Road and

  • on Saskatchewan Road at Dufferin Street.

From Tuesday, June 28 until 2 a.m. Thursday, July 14, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Dufferin Gate Loop, then detour:

northward along Dufferin Street;
eastward along Liberty and East Liberty Streets;
southward along Strachan Avenue; and then
eastward along Manitoba Drive to Canada Drive,
resuming their regular route southward along Canada Drive.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Saskatchewan Road east of Dufferin Street and
  • on Manitoba Drive at Quebec Street and Nova Scotia Avenue and across from Exhibition Loop.

Northbound buses start their trips in Princes’ Gate Loop, as usual, then proceed:

northward along Canada Drive;
eastward along Manitoba Drive;
northward along Strachan Avenue;
westward along East Liberty and Liberty Streets;
southward along Dufferin Street;
westward along Springhurst Avenue;
southward along Fort Rouille Street; and then
eastward through Dufferin Gates Loop,
resuming their regular route northward along Dufferin.

  • on Manitoba Drive beside Exhibition Loop, west of Nova Scotia Avenue and at Saskatchewan Road and
  • on Saskatchewan Road at Dufferin Street.
363 Ossington

(The TTC has not announced that the Indy set-up affects this route. However, these buses also usually operate into and out of Exhibition Loop on the same routing as buses operating along the 310 Bathurst overnight route. Since the TTC is detouring route 310 buses, it likely is detouring route 363 buses, too.)

From Tuesday, June 28 until Wednesday, July 13, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Manitoba and Canada Drives, then detour:

southward along Canada Drive; and then
eastward into Princes’ Gate Loop,
ending their trips.
