TTC replacing tracks
at Bathurst / Robinson, July 4 to 7

Starting 9 a.m. Monday, July 4, TTC track crews are replacing worn rails at the streetcar stop at Bathurst and Robinson Streets. Crews are working while the TTC is operating buses, instead of streetcars along the 511 Bathurst route during construction at College and Bathurst Streets.

Crews will create a safe work zone during the rail work, by restricting traffic to just one lane in each direction. They’ll work only in the TTC track allowance on the centre lanes.

They’re working at the site for about three days.

  • Monday, July 4: The track crew starts milling the concrete from the track area to expose the worn rail from about 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. They’ll also welding and grind rail.
  • Tuesday, July 5: The crew removes old rail and installs, welds and installs new rail. They also place new concrete in the track.
  • Wednesday, July 6: The new concrete cures.
  • Thursday, July 7, early morning: Crews remove the work zone and traffic resumes flowing along all lanes.
