TTC repairing tracks at Queen / Coxwell,
July 11 to 13

Starting at about 9 a.m. Monday, July 11, TTC crews are making urgent repairs to the streetcar tracks at the intersection of Queen Street East and Coxwell Avenue. They’ll restore the south-to-west right turn track to a state of good repair. The TTC will not re-route transit services while crews work on the project.

A crew breaks and removes the concrete in the track area to expose the rail Monday until 9 p.m. Once they’ve excavated the section, they’ll repair the rail. They’ll then place new concrete, possibly until early Tuesday morning. Expect noise when equipment is operating.

Traffic will be maintained through the intersection, although the crews may temporarily block some traffic lanes. They may also prevent southbound traffic on Coxwell from turning right *onto *westbound Queen. “Paid-duty” Toronto Police Services officers will help direct traffic and pedestrians during the work.

Crews will remove the work zone by 7 a.m. July 13.

Although the TTC is not rerouting transit services, the work may slightly delay streetcars and buses along these routes:

  • 22 Coxwell;
  • 501 Queen;
  • 502 Downtowner; and
  • 503 Kingston Rd.
