TTC replacing roof at Finch Station,
starting July 12

Update — Friday, December 23, 3:46 p.m.: Construction to replace the roof at Finch Station continues “until February” or until February 28, 2017.

Starting Tuesday, July 12, TTC contractors are replacing the roof of the bus terminal at Finch Station. Removing and replacing the roof makes sure that the bus-transfer structure remains in service for many years.

To keep the station open for passengers, the TTC is working in several phases. During each phase, the TTC will close two bus bays so that the crews can work on that section of the roof.

During this project, you may have to board or exit from buses at different bays than usually. Signs will guide you to the correct boarding area for buses operating along these TTC routes:

  • 36 Finch West;
  • 39 Finch East;
  • 42 Cummer;
  • 53 Steeles East;
  • 53E Steeles East express;
  • 60 Steeles West;
  • 60F Steeles West express;
  • 97 Yonge;
  • 125 Drewry; and
  • 199 Finch rocket.

The work has no impact on GO Transit or York Region Transit services. Passengers board or exit from GO and YRT / Viva buses at a different terminal — Finch GO Bus Terminal, just north of the TTC station.

Crews mostly work from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. daily. Occasionally, they may work later or earlier to complete the project as soon as possible.

Construction continues until December 31.
