Last week, TTC crews made emergency track repairs at Queen Street East and Coxwell Avenue. During that work, staff identified more rail conditions at the intersection that they must repair.
From Sunday, July 17 until Thursday, July 21, track staff will conduct preventative welding maintenance overnight from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. each night, when traffic volumes are low. Expect noise while they’re operating equipment.
Vehicle traffic continues through the intersection although crews may temporarily block some lanes and restrict turns through the work zone.
The TTC is detouring streetcars operating along these routes east of Connaught Avenue after midnight:

From 12:01 until 6 a.m. Sunday, July 17 and continuing overnight nightly until 6 a.m. Thursday, July 21, all cars start and end their trips in Russell Carhouse at Connaught Avenue west of Coxwell Avenue.
Westbound cars skip their regular stops
- in Neville Park Loop and
- on Queen Street East at Neville Park Boulevard, Silver Birch Avenue, Spruce Hill Road, Glen Manor Drive, Wineva and Lee Avenues, Waverly Road and Elmer Avenue, west of Woodbine Avenue, at Lockwood and Kingston Roads, Coxwell Avenue, Kent Road and Connaught Avenue.
Eastbound cars skip their regular stops
- on Queen Street East at Woodward, Coxwell, Eastern, Sarah Ashbridge, Woodbine and Kippendavie Avenues, Waverly Road, Lee and Wineva Avenues, Scarborough Beach Boulevard, Maclean, Beech and Silver Birch Avenues and Neville Park Boulevard and
- in Neville Park Loop.

(The TTC has not announced how it loops the buses at the west end of their route. Our guess: southward along Leslie Street, westward along Eastern Avenue and then northward along Pape Avenue to Queen East.)
