TTC installing new PRESTO fare gates
at Ossington Station, starting July 18

The TTC continues to install new PRESTO fare gates at more stations.

Ossington Station is next.

TTC crews are removing turnstiles and high gates and replacing them with new, PRESTO-enabled fare gates. The new gates provide easier access and improve the flow of passengers into and out of stations.

After the new fare gates are active, you can still use tickets, tokens and Metropasses to pay your fare when you enter the station — but only at the collector booth.

The TTC is assigning ambassadors to the stations to help you figure out how to get around during construction. It will also install way-finding signs.

From Monday, July 18, crews will block the main entrance doors as they improve accessibility by installing new automatic sliding doors and an accessible ramp, and re-grading the sidewalk in front of the station.

To reduce the impact of construction on passenger, the TTC is co-ordinating work on the new PRESTO fare gates with the accessibility improvements. Crews are removing all turnstiles, installing hoarding, adding new electrical conduits and removing and replacing existing terrazzo floor tiles.

You’ll have to enter the station through a temporary walkway on the north side of the main entrance. The main entrance collector booth will be closed and you won’t be able to buy TTC fares from Tuesday, July 19 until Wednesday, July 27, from Friday, August 5 until Sunday, August 28 and from Saturday, September 3 until Friday, September 30, while this area is under construction. Visit Dufferin or Christie stations to buy tickets, tokens and TTC passes during the closures.

The booth will be open and TTC staff will be selling TTC fares from Wednesday, July 28 until Thursday, August 4 and from Monday, August 29 until Friday, September 2.

Work at the main entrance continues until September 30.

From Friday, July 22 until Monday, July 25, the TTC is closing the Delaware Avenue entrance. You must enter the station by the temporary walkway on the north side of main entrance off Ossington Avenue.

From Friday, July 22 until Friday, September 30, crews will complete the preliminary work for installing the new PRESTO fare gates. Crews are removing all turnstiles, installing hoarding, adding new electrical conduits and removing and replacing existing terrazzo floor tiles.

After Monday, July 25, while the PRESTO construction continues, the Delaware entrance will remain open for you to use. When construction is complete, you can no longer buy or use tokens at this entrance. You’ll have to go to the main entrance to enter the station with tokens.
