PRESTO upgrading system, August 12 to 14

PRESTO is upgrading its system and some fare-card services will be unavailable, starting this evening, Friday, August 12 and continuing until Sunday, August 14.

By upgrading the system, PRESTO staff will:

  • change the sound on GO balance checkers to make it easier to distinguish their sound from PRESTO fare-payment devices.
  • enable future PRESTO capabilities for the TTC’s Wheel-Trans fleet
  • provide new audio instructions and audio jack volume adjustment for UP Express PRESTO devices

Visit a customer-service outlet if you need to add value to your card. Self-serve reload machines are operating during the upgrade, but will reboot at around 7 p.m. Saturday, August 13 for five to ten minutes. They’ll be back in service during the rest of the upgrade.

You can continue to use your PRESTO card for travel and access all PRESTO services. PRESTO fare-payment devices will continue to display accurate fare and balance information. The system may delay updating your account information if you perform transactions on or by phone through the PRESTO contact centre during the upgrade.
