TTC repairing tracks on Victoria,
August 15 to 17

Starting Monday, August 15, TTC track crews are repairing deteriorated concrete in the streetcar-track allowance on

  • Victoria Street just south of Dundas Street East.

This work maintains the tracks in a state of good repair and safety.

From 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. each day, crews are breaking and removing concrete and then placing new asphalt.

The new asphalt must set until about 5 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, before traffic can travel over the track area.

Crews will maintain traffic in both directions, although they may block some traffic lanes. A “paid-duty” Toronto Police Service officer will be in site to direct traffic and pedestrians.

Since the TTC only uses Victoria Street to divert streetcars during special events or emergencies, the work does not affect regular transit service.
