Update — Thursday, May 11, 2017, 9:48 p.m.: The TTC is closing the east commuter parking lot while its contractors pave it, Saturday, May 13, Sunday, May 14, Saturday, May 20, Sunday, May 21 and Victoria Day, Monday, May 22. Use the west commuter lot.

Update — Sunday, January 2, 2017, 10:22 a.m.: Construction on phase 2 of the project starts Friday, January 6, 2017.

Starting Monday, August 15, TTC contractors start a project to repave the east commuter parking lot at Finch Station, including:

  • resurfacing the parking lots;
  • improving the drainage systems;
  • improving the lighting system by installing LED energy-efficient lights; and
  • increasing the number of accessible parking spaces.

To keep the lot open for passengers, the TTC will phase construction work. Less parking will be available in the lot during the various stages of work. The TTC will maintain access to the lot, except when crews are repaving areas near access points. It will remove the parking-lot gates and replaced them with temporary “pay and display” meters during construction.

During stage 1, starting Monday, August 15, construction crews reduce the Willowdale Avenue driveway access to just two lanes of traffic. The crews require one lane for access.

During stage 2, in 2017, the crews reduce the Yonge Street driveway access to just two lanes of traffic.

During each stage of work, only about half of the parking spaces will be available for you to use. However, more space is available in the west commuter lot at Finch Station, although due to construction by a third-party, the entrance to the west lot from Yonge Street is closed until August 19.

Crews mostly work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day, although from time to time, they may work after these hours to complete the work as quickly as possible.

Expect noise and vibration.
