GO Transit is increasing services along two train lines and introducing new services to more areas of the Greater Golden Horseshoe, starting Saturday, September 3.
It’s increasing train services:
- to Milton and Mississauga along the 21 Milton line; and
- to Kitchener, Guelph and Acton along the 31 Kitchener line.
It’s introducing new bus service to Brantford and Lincoln and more bus service to Cambridge, Milton and Hamilton.
Summer weekend train service ends along the 12 Niagara Falls and 65 Barrie lines, but many more services to and from universities and colleges resume along many GO bus routes

Introducing a new route
24 Cambridge / Milton
Starting Tuesday, September 6, GO introduces service along this new route linking the Galt City Centre area of Cambridge with Milton GO Station.
GO provides Cambridge residents with four eastbound trips that connect with trains operating along the 21 Milton line Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours.
Eastbound buses start their trips in Grand River Transit’s Ainslie Street Terminal, then proceed:
northward along Ainslie and Water Streets and Hespeler Road;
eastward along Highway 401;
around Milton Park and Ride carpool lot;
southward along Martin Street;
eastward along Steeles Avenue East;
southward along Ontario Street North;
eastward along Main Street East; and then
southward into Milton GO Station bus terminal,
ending their trips.Eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops
- on Hespeler Road north of Dundas Street, at Can-Amera Parkway and at Pinebush Road,
- in the Milton Park and Ride carpool lot on Martin Street south of Highway 401,
- on Main Street East east of Ontario Street South and across from Wilson Avenue and
- in Milton GO Station bus terminal.
Eastbound buses leave Cambridge at 5:44, 6:09, 6:37 and 7:16 a.m. Mondays to Fridays. They end their trips in Milton at 6:25, 6:55, 7:32 and 8:11 a.m.
GO also offers four westbound buses that connect with trains during afternoon rush hours. The buses start their trips in Milton GO Station bus terminal, then proceed:
westward along Main Street East;
northward along Ontario Street North;
westward along Steeles Avenue East;
northward along Martin Street;
around Milton Park and Ride carpool lot;
northward along Martin Street;
westward along Highway 401;
southward along Hespeler Road and Water and Ainslie Streets; and then
eastward into Ainslie Street Terminal,

Westbound buses leave Milton at 5:17, 6:32, 7:32 and 8:17 p.m. They end their trips in Cambridge at 6:22, 7:27, 8:22 and 9:02 p.m.
Four more westbound buses operate directly from Milton GO Station to Cambridge when trains aren’t operating. The extra westbound buses leave Milton at 1:40, 3:05, 4:10 and 10 p.m. They end their trips in Cambridge at 2:45, 4:15, 5:20 and 10:50 p.m.
GO has not announced the routing for these extra buses, but they likely proceed from Union Station GO Bus Terminal:
southward along Yonge Street;
westward along Lake Shore Boulevard West and the Frederick G. Gardiner Expressway;
northward along Highway 427;
westward along Highway 401;
southward along James Snow Parkway;
westward along Main Street East; and then
southward into Milton GO Station bus terminal,

Increasing service along routes and lines
15 Brantford / Burlington
GO renames the former 15 McMaster route and extends the path so that buses operate to and from Brantford.
15 branch
GO buses operate seven days a week between Brantford and Aldershot GO Station, including service hourly Mondays to Fridays during rush hours and every two hours Mondays to Fridays off-peak and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. That means Brantfordites can take advantage of 26 GO bus trips - 13 in each direction - Mondays to Fridays and 18 - 9 in each direction - weekends and holidays.
Starting Saturday, September 3, eastbound buses leave Brantford Transit’s downtown terminal on Darling Street at 5:56, 7:56, 9:56 and 11:51 a.m. and 1:51, 3:51, 5:51, 7:56 and 9:56 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. They end their trips in Aldershot GO Station bus terminal at 6:46 a.m. and every two hours until 10:46 p.m.
Westbound buses leave Aldershot at 7:59 a.m. and every two hours until 11:59 p.m. They end their trips in Brantford at 8:49 a.m. and every two hours until 12:49 a.m.
Starting Tuesday, September 6, eastbound buses leave Brantford at 5:28, 6:23, 7:16, 8:11, 9:31 and 10:26 a.m. and 12:56, 2:51, 3:51, 4:46, 5:51, 7:56 and 9:56 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. They end their trips in Aldershot at 5:48, 6:18, 6:38, 7:18, 7:48, 8:21, 9:16, 10:21 and 11:16 a.m. and 1:46, 3:46, 4:46, 5:46, 6:46, 8:46 and 10:46 p.m.
Westbound buses leave Aldershot at 7:10, 7:59, 9:04 and 10:59 a.m. and 12:29, 1:29, 2:29, 3:29, 4:36, 5:56, 7:59, 9:59 and 11:59 Mondays to Fridays. They end their trips in Brantford at 8, 8:54, 9:59, 11:49, 1:19, 2:19, 3:19, 4:19, 5:31, 6:51, 8:49 and 10:49 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and 12:49 a.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays.
15A branch
GO also operates even more service along this short-turn branch between McMaster University and Aldershot. Buses operate about every 30 minutes from 8 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

30 Kitchener / Bramalea express
Starting Tuesday, September 6, GO expands service along the route from four to 34 trips Mondays to Fridays.
Westbound buses operate every 30 minutes during morning rush hours. Eastbound buses operate every 30 minutes during afternoon rush hours. Buses operate every hour in both directions midday and evenings. The bus schedule allows passengers aboard all buses operating along the route to connect with GO trains at Bramalea GO Station.
Buses stop only at Kitchener VIA Rail / GO Station, Grand River Transit’s Charles Street Terminal and Bramalea GO Station. GO is planning another stop in the Communitech area in downtown Kitchener after construction for ION light rail transit near King Street West and Victoria Street ends later this year.
Eastbound buses leave Kitchener VIA Rail / GO Station at 4:39, 7:46, 8:46, 9:56, 10:56 and 11:56 a.m. and 2:44, 4:05, 4:30, 4:55, 5:25, 6, 7:05, 8:10, 9:15 and 10:15 p.m. They end their trips in Bramalea GO Station bus terminal at 5:39, 9:01, 9:56 and 11:01 a.m. and 1:01, 2:01, 3:01. 3:49, 5:10, 5:40, 6:10, 6:40, 7:10, 7:45, 8:10, 9:15, 10:15 and 11:15 p.m.
Westbound buses leave Bramalea at 6:30, 7, 7:40, 8:15, 8:45, 9:40, 10:33 and 11:38 a.m. and 12:38, 1:38, 2:38, 3:38, 8:35, 9:30, 10:30 and 11:40 p.m. They arrive in Kitchener at 7:35, 8:10, 8:50, 9:25, 9:50, 10:45 and 11:38 a.m. and 12:43, 1:43, 2:43, 3:48, 4:53, 9:40, 10:30 and 11:30 p.m. and 12:40 a.m.

31 Kitchener train
Starting Tuesday, September 6, GO is revising its train schedules to provide more service west of Georgetown to Acton, Guelph and Kitchener.
The eastbound train that usually starts its trip in Georgetown GO Station at 6:23 a.m. Mondays to Fridays starts, instead, in Kitchener GO Station at 5:24 a.m. It drops off and picks up passengers in Guelph and Acton GO Stations and leaves Georgetown at the usual time of 6:23 a.m.
The train that usually starts its trip in Georgetown at 7:03 a.m. starts, instead, in Kitchener at 6:04 a.m. It drops off or picks up passengers in Guelph and Acton and serves Georgetown, Mount Pleasant, Brampton and Bramalea GO Stations at the same time as usually. It still ends its trip in Union at 7:55 a.m.
The train that usually starts its trip in Georgetown at 7:46 a.m. starts, instead, in Kitchener at 6:47 a.m. It drops off or picks up passengers in Guelph and Acton and leaves Georgetown at the usual time of 7:46 a.m. The train serves passengers in all stations east of Georgetown at the same time as usually. It still ends its trip in Union at 8:50 a.m.
The westbound train that usually starts its trip in Union Station at 5:20 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, continues beyond Georgetown to Acton, Guelph and Kitchener. It ends its trip in Kitchener at 7:27 p.m.
The train that usually starts in Union at 6:50 p.m. continues beyond Georgetown to Acton, Guelph and Kitchener. It ends its trip in Kitchener at 8:57 p.m.
GO is also adjusting the schedules for connecting buses operating along 31 Guelph / Georgetown / Toronto and 33 **Guelph / Georgetown / North York routes to make sure passengers can easily transfer between buses and trains.
GO is also decreasing service along the line and adjusting the schedules for trains operating along the line.

21 Milton train
Starting Tuesday, September 6, GO is increasing train service along the 21 Milton line by operating trains along two new trips — one Monday-to-Friday mornings and another afternoons:
- A new eastbound train leaves Milton GO Station at 5:59 a.m. Mondays to Fridays. It drops off or picks up passengers at all stations along the line, ending its trip in Union Station at 7 a.m.
- A new westbound train leaves Union Station at 5:55 p.m. It serves all stations along the line, ending its trip in Milton at 6:54 p.m.
By adding these two new rail trips to the schedule, GO brings the total number of weekly trips along the corridor to 100. Each new train trip accommodates about 1,500 more passengers during the morning and afternoon rush hours.
GO is also adjusting the schedules for connecting buses operating along 21 Milton / Toronto route to make sure passengers can easily transfer between buses and trains.

With the end of summer train service along the 65 Barrie line, Labour Day, Monday, September 5 is the last day this year that GO operates buses along the branch between Barrie Terminal and Aurora GO Station. (Bus passengers could connect with the trains in Aurora.)
Instead, starting Saturday, September 10,it operates the buses along the main 68 branch of the route with all buses starting and ending their trips in Newmarket GO Bus Terminal, instead of Aurora.

Starting Tuesday, September 6, GO is revising its train schedules to provide more service west of Georgetown to Acton, Guelph and Kitchener. Although it’s generally increasing service to Kitchener along the line, it’s short-turning one trip that usually started in Kitchener.
The eastbound train that usually leaves Kitchener GO Station at 5:49 a.m. starts, instead, in Georgetown GO Station at its usual time of 6:48 a.m. Mondays to Fridays. The train drops off or picks up passengers at all stations east of Georgetown at the same time as usually. It ends its trip in Union Station at is usual time of 7:52 a.m.
GO is also adjusting the schedules for connecting buses operating along 31 Guelph / Georgetown / Toronto and 33 Guelph / Georgetown / North York routes to make sure passengers can easily transfer between buses and trains.

09 Lakeshore East train
Friday, September 2 is the last day that the westbound train that usually leaves Oshawa GO Station at 5:27 p.m. stops in Danforth GO Station at 6:13 p.m. Starting Tuesday, September 6, the train skips Danforth to make sure it keeps on schedule to arrive in Union Station at 6:25 p.m.
(The same train leaves Union at 6:30 p.m. to operate express along the 01 **Lakeshore West line. It proceeds without stopping until Clarkson GO Station, then continues local to Aldershot GO Station, stopping at all stations between Clarkson and Aldershot.)
GO is also adjusting the schedules for connecting buses operating along 81 Port Perry / Whitby, 88 **Peterborough / Oshawa, 90 Lakeshore East and 91 Newcastle / Oshawa express routes to make sure passengers can easily transfer between buses and trains.
GO is also adjusting the schedule for trains operating along the line and making other changes to service along the line.

27A branch
Friday, September 2 is the last day that GO operates the eastbound buses that usually leave Milton GO Station at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Instead, the buses operate along the 27F branch, meaning they only operate east of Meadowvale GO Station. They still end their trips in Finch GO Bus Terminal at noon and 3:30 p.m.
It’s also the last day that GO operates the westbound buses that usually end their trips in Milton GO Station bus terminal at 7:45, 9 and 10:35 a.m. and 1:35 p.m. Instead, the buses operate along the 27F branch, meaning they only operate as far west at Meadowvale. The buses still start their trips in Finch terminal at 6:30, 7:30 and 9:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.

Labour Day, Monday, September 5 is the last day for weekend summer train service along the 12 Niagara Falls line. And, it’s also the last day for buses operating along this route that usually carry Niagara-on-the-Lake passengers to and from St. Catharines VIA Rail Station, where they can connect with the GO trains.
GO will temporarily resume service during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend - from Friday, October 7 until Monday, October 10.

Friday, September 2 is the last day that GO operates the southbound buses that usually leave Orangeville Mall at 6:22 and 11:59 a.m. Mondays to Fridays The buses usually end their trips in Downtown Brampton Terminal at 7:17 a.m. and 12:52 p.m.

Since GO is increasing bus and train service to and from Kitchener and introducing new bus service between Cambridge and Milton, it’s cancelling service along this branch of the route.
The buses usually operated between the University of Waterloo and Milton GO Station, where passengers could connect with GO trains operating along the 21 Milton line.
As the fall academic term starts, GO resumes full service along all other branches of the route.

The southbound buses leave Barrie at 8:50 a.m. and 12:45, 2:45 and 6:50 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. They end their trips in Newmarket at 10:05 a.m. and 2:05, 4:05 and 8:05 p.m.
The northbound buses leave Newmarket at 1:30, 5:25, 7:25 and 11:10 p.m. They end their trips in Barrie at 2:45, 6:40 and 8:35 p.m. and 12:15 a.m.

It ends its trip in Union Station at 4:39 p.m.
The westbound trains that usually leave Union Station at 10:48 and 11:48 a.m. and 12:48, 1:48 and 2:48 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leave, instead, five minutes later than usually. They drop off or pick up passengers at all stations west of Union as much as five minutes later than usually.
By adjusting the schedules of these trips, GO says, it can reduce the number of opportunities for Canadian National Railway freight trains to delay GO trains operating along the same line.
The train that usually leaves Union Station at 4:50 p.m. operates express — without stopping - to Bramalea GO Station. It then drops off or picks up passengers at all stops west of Bramalea as much as 12 minutes earlier than usually. It ends its trip in Kitchener GO Station at 6:45 p.m.
GO is also adjusting the schedules for connecting buses operating along 31 Guelph / Georgetown / Toronto and 33 Guelph / Georgetown / North York routes to make sure passengers can easily transfer between buses and trains.

It ends its trip in Oshawa at 5:48 p.m.
The express train that leaves Union at 6 p.m. and usually arrives in Pickering at 6:28 p.m. arrives, instead, three minutes later at 6:31 p.m. It serves passengers at stations east of Pickering as much as three minutes later than usually. It ends its trip in Oshawa at 6:49 p.m.
GO is also adjusting the schedules for connecting buses operating along 81 Port Perry / Whitby, 88 Peterborough / Oshawa, 90 Lakeshore East and 91 Newcastle / Oshawa express routes to make sure passengers can easily transfer between buses and trains.
