MiWay revises routes and services,
September 5



MiWay is increasing service on a number of routes and making other changes to its services, starting Labour Day, Monday, September 5.


MiWay is revising service along these MiLocal routes: 3 Bloor; 5 Dixie; 6 Credit Woodlands; 7 Airport; 8 Cawthra; 10 Bristol - Britannia; 13 Glen Erin; 14 Lorne Park; 16 Malton; 19 Hurontario; 20 Rathburn; 26 Burnhamthorpe; 29 Park Royal - Homelands; 30 Woodbine; 34 Credit Valley; 35 Eglinton; 36 Colonial loop; 38 Creditview; 42 Derry; 48 Erin Mills; 51 Tomken; 61 Mavis; 66 McLaughlin; 76 City Centre - Subway.

Introducing a new route


306 Streetsville - Terry Fox high school special

Starting Tuesday, September 6, MiWay operates buses along this new route.

The morning bus leaves Winterton Way west of Mavis Road at 7:33 a.m. Monday-to-Friday school days, then proceeds:

westward along Winterton;
northward along Terry Fox Way;
westward along Bristol Road West;
northward along Creditview Road;
westward along Britannia Road West;
southward along Queen Street South;
westward along Tannery Street; and then
southward along Joymar Drive to just south of Tannery Street beside Streetsville Secondary School,
ending its trip at 7:50 a.m.

The morning bus picks up passengers:

  • on Winterton Way west of Mavis Road, at Heatherleigh Avenue and Terry Fox Way,
  • on Bristol Road West at Sweetgrass Gate, Kinglet and Loonlake Avenues, across from Fallingbrook Drive and at Whitehorn Avenue and Creditview Road,
  • on Creditview Road north of Bristol Road West, at Torrington, Pickwick and Duval Drives and north of Granrock Crescent [north],
  • on Britannia Road West west of Creditview and Tillson Roads and at Ellesboro Drive,
  • on Queen Street South south of Britannia Road West and at Henry, Caroline and Tannery Streets.

The afternoon bus leaves Joymar Drive across from Tannery Street at 2:49 p.m., then proceeds:

southward along Joymar;
eastward along Thomas Street;
northward along Queen Street East
eastward along Britannia Road East;
southward along Creditview Road;
eastward along Bristol Road East;
southward along Terry Fox Way; and then
eastward along Winterton Way to Mavis Road,
ending their trips.

The afternoon bus drops off passengers:

  • on Thomas Street across from Joymar Drive,
  • on Queen Street South at Main and Tannery Streets, across from Tannery Street, north of Kerr Street, at Ontario and Ellen Streets and Britannia Road West,
  • on Britannia Road West at Arch Road, Joseph Street, Rivergrove Avenue and Creditview Road,
  • on Creditview Road south of Britannia Road West, at Highbrook Avenue, across from Pickwick Drive, at Willow Way and south of Willow Way,
  • on Bristol Road West east of Creditview Road, across from Whitehorn Avenue, at Fallingbrook and Segriff Drives and Lismic Boulevard, across from Sweetgrass Gate and at Terry Fox Way,
  • on Terry Fox Way at Windsor Hill Boulevard and
  • on Winterton Way east of Terry Fox Way and at Heatherleigh Avenue and Mavis Road.

Increasing service along routes


7 Airport

MiWay operates buses along the route earlier Saturday, Sunday-and-holiday mornings and later Sunday and holiday evenings.

Starting Labour Day, Monday, September 5, the first southbound bus leaves Westwood Mall terminal at 6:52 a.m. Sundays and holidays, instead of 7:31 a.m. The last southbound bus leaves Westwood at 11:34 p.m., instead of 11:12 p.m. The last northbound bus leaves City Centre Terminal at 10:39 p.m., instead of 10:08 p.m.

Starting Saturday, September 10, the first southbound bus leaves Westwood at 5 a.m. Saturdays, instead of 6:02 a.m.

3 Bloor

Starting Tuesday, September 6, MiWay again operates the westbound MiLocal bus that usually leaves Bloor Street East east of Tomken Road at 2:48 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The bus ends its trip in City Centre Terminal at 3:07 p.m.

10 Bristol - Britannia

Starting Tuesday, September 6, MiWay again operates the northbound MiLocal bus that usually leaves Bristol Road West west of Hurontario Street at 2:37 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The bus ends its trip in Meadowvale Town Centre Terminal at 3:15 p.m.

26 Burnhamthorpe

MiWay operates buses along the route earlier Sunday-and-holiday mornings.

Starting Labour Day, Monday, September 5, the first eastbound bus leaves Burnhamthorpe Road West west of Erindale Station Road at 7:08 a.m. Sundays and holidays, instead of 8:10 a.m. The first westbound bus leaves Islington Station at 8:01 a.m., instead of 9:05 a.m.

MiWay is also decreasing the frequency of service along the route.

8 Cawthra

Starting Tuesday, September 6, MiWay again operates the southbound MiLocal bus that usually leaves City Centre Terminal at 7:53 a.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The bus ends its trip in Port Credit GO Station bus terminal at 8:32 a.m. It’s also again operating the southbound bus that usually leaves Cawthra Road south of Arbor Road at 3:15 p.m. The bus ends its trip in Port Credit at 3:24 p.m.

That same day it again operates the northbound buses that usually leave Cawthra south of Arbor at 3:10, 3:11 and 3:13 p.m. The buses end their trips in City Centre Terminal at 3:36, 3:37 and 3:39 p.m.

76 City Centre - Subway

MiWay operates three more buses along the route later Monday-to-Friday evenings.

Starting Tuesday, September 6, the last eastbound bus leaves City Centre Terminal at 10:39 p.m., instead of 8:20 p.m., Mondays to Fridays. The last westbound bus leaves Islington Station at 11:22 p.m., instead of 9:04 p.m.

Buses operate about every 27½ minutes after about 8:30 p.m.

Since MiWay is providing later service along this route, it’s decreasing the frequency of service along the 26 Burnhamthorpe route later Monday-to-Friday evenings.

34 Credit Valley

MiWay operates buses along the route earlier Sunday-and-holiday mornings.

Starting Labour Day, Monday, September 5, the first eastbound bus leaves Erin Mills Town Centre terminal at 7:41 a.m. Sundays and holidays, instead of 8:24 a.m. The first westbound bus leaves City Centre Terminal at 8:32 a.m., instead of 9:06 a.m.

38 Creditview

Starting Tuesday, September 6, MiWay again operates the southbound MiLocal bus that usually leaves Creditview Road north of Highbrooke Avenue at 2:24 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The bus ends its trip on Glengarry Road south of Dundas Street West at 2:46 p.m.

6 Credit Woodlands

Starting Tuesday, September 6, MiWay again operates the eastbound MiLocal buses that leave McBride Avenue east of Erindale Station Road at 2:56 and 3:02 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The buses end their trips in City Centre Terminal at 3:26 and 3:30 p.m.

42 Derry

MiWay operates buses along the route later Saturday, Sunday-and-holiday evenings.

Starting Labour Day, Monday, September 5, the last eastbound bus leaves Meadowvale Town Centre terminal at 9:07 p.m. Sundays and holidays, instead of 8:26 p.m. The last westbound bus leaves Westwood Mall terminal at 9:52 p.m., instead of 9:07 p.m.

Starting Saturday, September 10, the last eastbound bus leaves Meadowvale at 9:34 p.m. Saturdays, instead of 9:01 p.m. The last westbound buses leaves Westwood at 9:58 p.m., instead of 9:25 p.m.

5 Dixie

MiWay operates buses along the route earlier Saturday mornings.

Starting Saturday, September 10, the first northbound bus leaves Long Branch GO Station at 5:17 a.m. Saturdays, instead of 5:43 a.m.

35 Eglinton

MiWay operates buses along the route earlier Saturday mornings.

Starting Tuesday, September 6, the first eastbound bus leaves Erin Centre Boulevard across from Longford Drive at 5:50 a.m. Saturdays, instead of 6:20 a.m. The first westbound bus leaves Islington Station at 6:53 a.m., instead of 7:23 a.m.

13 Glen Erin

Starting Tuesday, September 6, MiWay again operates the northbound MiLocal bus that usually leaves Southdown Road south of Truscott Drive at 2:25 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The bus ends its trip in South Common Centre terminal at 2:38 p.m.

That same day it again operates operates the northbound buses that usually leave Glen Erin Drive south of Eglinton Avenue West at 2:27 and 2:28 p.m. The buses end their trips in Meadowvale Town Centre terminal at 2:51 and 2:52 p.m.

19 Hurontario

Starting Tuesday, September 6, MiWay again operates the southbound MiLocal buses that leave City Centre Transit Terminal at 7:55 a.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The bus ends its trip in Port Credit GO Station bus terminal at 8:27 a.m.

That same day it again operates the northbound buses that leave Mineola Road east of Hurontario Street at 2:53 and 2:55 p.m. The buses end their trips in City Centre Transit Terminal at 3:17 and 3:19 p.m.

MiWay also operates buses along the route earlier Saturday mornings.

Starting Saturday, September 10, the first southbound bus leaves Highway 407 / Hurontario Park and Ride carpool lot at 5:45 a.m. Saturdays, instead of 6:02 a.m.

The first northbound bus leaves Port Credit GO Station at 5:02 a.m., instead of 5:10 a.m., Saturdays.

14 Lorne Park

Starting Tuesday, September 6, MiWay again operates the eastbound MiLocal buses that usually leave Truscott Drive west of Lorne Park Road at 2:48 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. The buses end their trips in Port Credit GO Station bus terminal at 3:04 p.m.

That same day it again operates the westbound bus that usually leaves Port Credit GO Station at 3:25 p.m. It ends its trip on Southdown Road north of Bromsgrove Road at 3:46 p.m.

107 Malton express

Summer service ends and regular service resumes.

The fall academic term at Humber College’s North campus starts Tuesday, September 6. That same day, MiExpress buses again operate to and from the college Mondays to Fridays from about 6:30 a.m. until 10:45 p.m.

The buses operate only as far north as Westwood Mall terminal early Monday-to-Friday mornings and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Also starting Tuesday, September 6, MiWay operates buses along the route later Monday-to-Friday evenings.

The last southbound bus leaves Humber at 10:45 p.m., instead of leaving Westwood at 10:14 p.m. The last northbound bus leaves City Centre Terminal at 9:55 p.m., instead of 9:30 p.m.

MiWay is also increasing the frequency of service along the route.

61 Mavis

MiWay operates buses along the route later Sunday-and-holiday evenings.

Starting Labour Day, Monday, September 5, the last southbound bus leaves Financial Drive south of Syntex Court at 9:45 p.m. Sundays and holidays, instead of 9:11 p.m. The last northbound bus leaves City Centre Terminal at 9:43 p.m., instead of 9:07 p.m.

66 McLaughlin

Starting Tuesday, September 6, MiWay again operates the southbound bus that usually leaves Sheridan College Davis terminal at 7:19 a.m. Mondays to Fridays. The bus ends its trip in City Centre Terminal at 7:50 a.m.

MiWay also operates buses along the route earlier Sunday-and-holiday mornings.

Starting Labour Day, Monday, September 5, the first southbound bus leaves Sheridan College Davis terminal at 9:30 a.m. Sundays and holidays, instead of 10 a.m. The first northbound buses leaves City Centre Terminal at 9 a.m., instead of 10 a.m.

MiWay is also increasing the frequency of service along the route and adjusting the schedules for buses operating along the route.

29 Park Royal - Homelands

Starting Tuesday, September 6, MiWay again operates the southbound MiLocal bus that usually leaves Sheridan Centre terminal at 2:21 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The bus ends its trip in Clarkson GO Station bus terminal at 2:49 p.m.

That same day, it again operates the northbound bus that usually leaves Bromsgrove Road east of Constable Road at 2:41 p.m. The bus ends its trip in South Common Centre Terminal at 3:10 p.m.

20 Rathburn

Starting Tuesday, September 6, MiWay again operates the westbound MiLocal buses that usually leave Rathburn Road East east of Willowbank Trail at 2:28, 2:29 and 2:30 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The buses end their trips in City Centre Terminal at 2:38, 2:39 and 2:40 p.m.

MiWay also operates buses along the route earlier Sunday-and-holiday mornings.

Starting Labour Day, Monday, September 5, the first eastbound bus leaves Erindale GO Station at 7:25 a.m. Sundays and holidays, instead of 7:59 a.m. The first westbound buses leaves Islington Station at 8:16 a.m., instead of 8:50 a.m.

51 Tomken

Starting Tuesday, September 6, MiWay again operates the southbound MiLocal buses that usually leave Tomken Road south of Eglinton Avenue East at 2:15, 2:16 and 2:20 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The buses end their trips on Stanfield Road north of Middlegate Road at 2:32, 2:33 and 2:37 p.m.

That same day it again operates the northbound bus that usually leaves Tomken Road just north of Dundas Street East at 7:36 a.m. It ends its trip on Lorimar Drive south of Cardiff Boulevard at 8:10 a.m.

110 University express

MiWay operates buses along the route earlier Sunday-and-holiday mornings.

Starting Labour Day, Monday, September 5, the first northbound bus leaves Clarkson GO Station at 9:22 a.m. Sundays and holidays, instead of 9:49 a.m.

MiWay is also increasing the frequency of service along the route.

Decreasing service along a route


48 Erin Mills

MiWay is decreasing service late Monday-to-Friday evenings.

Starting Tuesday, September 6, the last southbound bus leaves Meadowvale Town Centre terminal at 12:15 a.m., instead of 1:15 a.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays. The last northbound bus leaves South Common Centre terminal at 11:45 p.m., instead of 1:46 a.m.

In total, MiWay is removing six trips - two southbound and four northbound - from the Monday-to-Friday schedules.

Buses operating along the parallel 13 Glen Erin route continue to serve the same neighbourhood until about 2:30 a.m.

MiWay is also making other changes to service along the route.

107 Malton express

MiWay is operating one more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

Starting Tuesday, September 6, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 9½ minutes, instead of every 12 minutes.

MiWay is also increasing service along the route and revising the path for buses operating along the route.

109 Meadowvale express

MiWay is operating one more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

Starting Tuesday, September 6, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 7 to 9 minutes, instead of every 6 to 13 minutes.
66 McLaughlin

Summer service ends and regular service resumes.

The fall academic term at Sheridan College’s Davis and Hazel McCallion campuses starts Tuesday, September 6. That same day, MiWay increases the frequency of service along the route Mondays to Fridays.

Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 12 minutes, instead of every 15 minutes, Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours;
  • every 16 minutes, instead of every minutes, from about 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.;
  • every 13 minutes, instead of every 18 minutes, during afternoon rush hours; and
  • every 21 to 28 minutes, instead of every 30 minutes, after about 7 p.m.

MiWay is also operating one more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service Saturdays.

Starting Saturday, September 10, buses serve passengers at stops:

every 22 minutes, instead of every 30 minutes, Saturdays from about 11:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

MiWay is also increasing service along the route and adjusting the schedules for buses operating along the route.

110 University express

Summer service ends and regular service resumes.

The fall / winter academic term at the University of Toronto’s Mississauga campus starts Tuesday, September 6. That same day, MiWay again short-turns MiExpress buses on the campus Mondays to Fridays after the morning rush hours. Buses again operate short trips between the campus and City Centre Transit Terminal, increasing the frequency of service along this part of route.

Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops east of U of T Mississauga:

  • every 5 to 10 minutes, instead of every 15 to 17 minutes, from about 8:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m.

MiWay is also increasing service along the route.

Decreasing the frequency of service along routes


26 Burnhamthorpe

MiWay operates one less bus along the route, decreasing the frequency of service late Monday to Friday evenings.

Starting Tuesday, September 6, buses drop off or pick up passengers along the route:

  • every 26 to 28 minutes, instead of every 22 minutes, Mondays to Fridays after about 8 p.m.

Instead, MiWay is increasing service along the 76 City Centre - Subway route.

MiWay is also increasing service along the route.

36 Colonial loop

MiWay continues summer service levels along the route permanently. It decreasing the frequency of service all year Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

Starting Tuesday, September 6, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 20 minutes, instead of every 14 minutes.

Revising the path for buses operating along a route


107 Malton express

Summer service ends and MiWay resumes MiExpress service to and from Humber College’s North campus Mondays to Fridays from about 6:30 a.m. until 10:30 p.m.

Starting Tuesday, September 6, southbound buses start their trips in Humber College Terminal, then proceed:

westward along Humber College Boulevard and Humberline Drive;
southward along Humberwoods Boulevard;
westward along Morning Star Drive; and then
southward into Westwood Mall terminal,
resuming their regular route.

Northbound buses reverse the southbound routing.

Buses operate express - without stopping - between Westwood Mall and Humber College terminals.

MiWay is also increasing the frequency of service along the route.

107 Malton express

With the start of the fall / winter academic term at Humber College’s North campus, MiWay again extends the path for buses operating along the route to the campus from Westwood Mall Terminal.

It’s also also increasing the frequency of service along the route.

66 McLaughlin

With the start of the fall / winter academic term at Sheridan College’s Davis campus, MiWay is increasing service and increasing the frequency of service along the route and adjusting the schedules for buses operating along the route.

110 University express

With the start of the fall / winter academic term at the University of Toronto’s Mississauga campus, MiWay is increasing service and increasing the frequency of service along the route.

Adjusting the schedules for buses operating along a route


66 McLaughlin

Starting Saturday, September 10, MiWay increases the running time - the time it schedules for drivers to complete a round trip along the route. By adding four to five minutes extra running time, MiWay say, it’s increasing the reliability of the service Saturdays from about 11:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
