Bay streetcar tunnel upgrades:
TTC detours, September 17 and 18

This weekend, TTC track crews are working in the Bay streetcar tunnel, replacing a section of curved rail and upgrading the wheel / rail lubrication unit in Union Station streetcar loop.

Starting 12:01 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, September 17, the crews work in the tunnel to make sure that they finish in time for regular streetcar service to resume early Monday, September 19.

Although they’ll be working underground, they’ll also move vehicles and equipment into and out of the tunnel along the streetcar ramp on Queens Quay West east of York Street. You may hear beeping from back-up alarms on the TTC trucks and noise from the equipment.
