GO revising Durham Region services,
starting September 24



GO Transit is revising bus services in Durham Region, starting today, Saturday, September 24.


GO is revising service along these routes: 52 Oshawa / York U; 96 Oshawa / Finch express.


Specifically, GO is: decreasing service along routes; and revising the path for buses operating along a route.


Decreasing service along routes

96 Oshawa / Finch express

Starting Saturday, September 24, GO decreases service along the route all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and Monday-to-Friday midday and early evenings.

Buses operate every hour, instead of every 30 minutes, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and Mondays to Fridays from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and from about 7 until 10 p.m.

Sunday, September 18 was the last day that GO operated the westbound buses that usually leave Oshawa GO Station at 9 a.m. and every hour until 7 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. (The buses usually end their trips in Scarborough Centre GO Bus Terminal at 9:40 a.m. and every hour until 7:40 p.m.) It was also the last day that GO operated the eastbound buses that usually leave Scarborough at 10 a.m. and every hour until 8 p.m. (The buses usually end their trips in Oshawa at 10:35 a.m. and every hour until 8:35 p.m.)

Yesterday, Friday, September 23 was the last day that GO operated the westbound buses that usually leave Oshawa at 9, 10 and 11 a.m., noon and 6, 7 and 8 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. (The buses usually ended their trips in Finch GO Bus Terminal at 10:05 and 11:05 a.m. and 12:05, 1:05, 7:10, 8:05 and 9 p.m.) It was also the last day that GO operated the eastbound buses that usually leave Finch at 10:35 and 11:35 a.m. and 12:35, 1:35, 7:35, 8:35 and 9:35 p.m. (The buses usually end their trips in Oshawa at 11:35 a.m. and 12:35, 1:35, 2:35, 8:40, 9:35 and 10:35 p.m.)

Starting today, Saturday, September 24, GO revises the path for buses operating along the route.

Yesterday, Friday, September 23 was the last day that westbound buses dropped off or picked up passengers at stops:

  • on Highway 7 at Westney Road North and Paddock Road.

It was also the last day that eastbound buses served passengers at stops:

  • on Highway 7 at Concession 6 and Westney Road North.

Revising the path for buses operating along a route

52 Oshawa / York U

Starting today, Saturday, September 24, GO revises the path so that buses operate along Highway 407, instead of Highway 7, west of Lakeridge Road.

Westbound buses operate along their usual route to Highway 7 and Lakeridge, then proceed:

southward along Lakeridge;
westward along Highway 407;
southward along Brock Road; and then
westward into the Brock / Highway 407 Park and Ride carpool lot,
resuming their usual route.

Eastbound buses reverse the westbound route.

GO is also decreasing service to stops on Highway 7.
