TTC installing new PRESTO fare gates
at three more stations, starting September 30

Update — Thursday, November 17, 6:47 p.m.: Construction at the automatic entrance to Eglinton Station has ended and passengers are using the new PRESTO-enabled fare gates. With the end of construction, all Line 1 stations have at least one entrance that is PRESTO-enabled.

Update — Wednesday, November 16, 7:29 p.m.: Construction at the automatic entrance to Rosedale Station has ended and passengers are using the new PRESTO-enabled fare gates.

The TTC continues to install new PRESTO fare gates at more stations.

Eglinton, Leslie and Rosedale stations are next.

TTC crews are removing turnstiles and high gates and replacing them with new, PRESTO-enabled fare gates. The new gates provide easier access and improve the flow of passengers into and out of stations.

During construction, you can only access the station at the collector booth aisle at the main entrance.

After the new fare gates are active, you can still use tickets, tokens and Metropasses to pay your fare when you enter the station — but only at the collector booth.

The TTC is assigning ambassadors to the stations to help you figure out how to get around during construction. It will also install way-finding signs.

  • Eglinton (automatic entrance): Construction starts Friday, September 30. It continues until November 30.
  • Leslie: Construction starts Friday, September 30. It continues until December 15.
  • Rosedale: Construction starts Wednesday, October 5. It continues until November 18.

Eglinton Station

The TTC is closing the automatic entrance at Yonge Street and Berwick Avenue from 6 p.m. Friday, September 30 until 6 a.m. Monday, October 3. While the entrance is closed, you can access the station through the main entrance at Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue.

If you need access to the elevator during the weekend closure, board a bus outside the automatic entrance and enter the elevator from the bus terminal. Customer service representatives will be available to help you find your way..

When the entrance reopens, you can access the station through a crash gate collector for the rest of the construction period.

Construction at the automatic entrance to Eglinton Station continues “until late November”, or until November 30.

Leslie Station

TTC crews are working at Leslie Station in two phases to reduce the impact on passengers.

During phase one, starting Friday, September 30, the collector booth is open for fare media sales. You can enter the station through an aisle beside the collector booth.

Phase one continues until “late October” or until October 30.

During phase two, starting “late October” or Monday, October 31, you can access the station through the collector booth aisle or crash gate collector.

Construction at Leslie Station continues until “mid-December”, or until December 16.

Rosedale Station

Construction starts Wednesday, October 5. Starting Friday, October 7, you’ll have to enter the station through the bus terminal.

The collector booth will be open for fare media sales during construction, but you must enter and exit the station through a crash-gate collector at the bus-terminal doors. The front doors from Crescent Road will be closed and signs will direct you to the bus terminal entrance.

Construction at Rosedale Station continues until “mid-November”, or until November 18.

At an unstaffed automatic entrance, you can only enter by paying your fare with a token or pass. After construction, you can also use your PRESTO card to enter.
