Safe Semester Project

The City of Guelph is closing

  • Macdonell Street between the Macdonell parking lot and the West Parkade and
  • Wyndham Street North between Cork and Carden Streets.

From 10 p.m. Saturday, October 29 until 4 a.m. Sunday, October 30 to accommodate the annual program to create a safe and enjoyable environment for downtown patrons, including the influx of students who settle in Guelph each year. The program works to reduce conflicts between pedestrians and drivers getting in and out of downtown on weekends and prevent littering and “public nuisances”.

Guelph Transit is detouring buses operating into and out of Guelph Central Station terminal, while the streets are closed.

You can ride any HSR bus free of fare to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats game against the Edmonton Eskimos, Friday, October 28 at 7 p.m. — if you hold a valid ticket to the game.

With the HSR’s Ticket to Ride program, you can ride free of fare to Tim Horton’s Field for as much as two hours before game time and free of fare from the stadium until the end of service.

2 Barton

Buses serve all local stops between the Hamilton GO Centre, downtown Hamilton and Barton Street East at Lenister Avenue North — just one block north of Tim Hortons Field.

3 Cannon

Buses serve all local stops between the Hamilton GO Centre, downtown Hamilton and Cannon Street East at Balsam Avenue North — just south of Tim Hortons Field.

Tiger-Cats Express shuttles

From about 5 until 7 p.m., Friday, October 28, free HSR shuttle buses also speedily transport ticket-holders from four terminals across the city to the stadium. After the game is over, they’ll shuttle you back again. You can view the schedule for Friday’s shuttle service here

The City of Vaughan is closing:

  • Ahmadiyya Avenue beside the Baitul Islam mosque, west of Jane Street and
  • Mosque Gate between Teston Road and Ahmadiyya Avenue

from October 5 until October 31 to accommodate the conference and other community events.

York Region Transit is detouring buses while the streets are closed.

Mondays to Thursdays from 7 until 10 p.m. and Fridays to Sundays from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m., southbound buses start their trips on Jane Street south of Teston Road, then proceed:
