The City of Toronto is closing:
- Queen Street West between James and Yonge Streets
tomorrow, Thursday, November 3 evening to accommodate the annual unveiling of the holiday windows at the Hudson’s Bay Company / Saks Fifth Avenue store.
The TTC is detouring streetcars operating along this route, while the street is closed:
- 501 Queen.
Shuttle buses replace the cars, operating between Shaw and Jarvis Streets.
Buses operating along the 502 Downtowner route usually also operate along the closed section of Queen Street West before 7 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. However, the TTC has not provided detour information for that route.
501 Queen
From 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday, November 3, eastbound cars operate along their long-term detour route to King Street West and Spadina Avenue, then further detour:
eastward along King Streets West and East; and then
northward along Church Street to Queen Street East,
resuming their regular route eastward along Queen East.Eastbound cars skip their regular stops
- on Queen Street West at Strachan Avenue, Niagara, Tecumseth and Bathurst Streets, Augusta and Spadina Avenues, Peter and John Streets, University Avenue and York, Bay and Yonge Streets and
- on Queen Street East at Victoria and Church Streets.
Instead, eastbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Shaw Street across from Adelaide Street West and at King Street West,
- on King Street West at Strachan Avenue, Niagara, Tecumseth, Bathurst and Portland Streets, Spadina Avenue, Blue Jays Way, John Street, University Avenue and York, Bay and Yonge Streets,
- on King Street East at Church Street and
- on Church Street north of Lombard Street and at Queen Street East.
Shuttle buses replace the cars between Shaw and Church Streets. Eastbound street car passengers may transfer to eastbound buses at Queen Street West and Shaw Street.
Westbound cars reverse the eastbound detour routing.

- on Queen Street West at Bay Street, across from York Street, at University Avenue, west of Simcoe Street, at John and Soho Streets, Spadina and Augusta Avenues, Bathurst Street, Palmerston Avenue, Claremont Street, across from Strachan Avenue and at Shaw Street.
Instead, westbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Church Street at Richmond, Adelaide and King Street East,
- on King Street East at Yonge Street,
- on King Street West at Bay and York Streets, University Avenue, John and Peter Streets, Spadina Avenue, Portland, Bathurst, Tecumseth and Niagara Streets, Strachan Avenue and Shaw Street and
- on Shaw Street at Adelaide and Queen Streets West.

southward along Strachan;
westward along Douro Street;
northward along Shaw Street;
eastward along Queen Street West;
southward along University Avenue;
eastward along King Streets West and East;
northward along Church Street; and then
eastward along Queen Street East to Jarvis Street,
