The Region of Durham and the Municipality of Clarington are closing several streets in downtown Bowmanville, including

  • King Streets East and West (Regional Highway 2) between Scugog and Liberty Streets and
  • Liberty Street South (Regional Road 14) between King Street East and Memorial Park (at Park Street)

Saturday morning to accommodate the annual parade.

Durham Region Transit and GO Transit are likely detouring buses during the event, but have not yet confirmed detour-routing information.

From 7 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday, November 12, buses start their trips at the Clarington Centre, on Clarington Boulevard north of Prince William Boulevard, then proceed:

southward along Clarington;
easstward along Prince William Boulevard;
northward along Pethick Street;
eastward along King Street West;
southward along Regional Road 57;
eastward along Baseline Roads West and East;
northward along Simpson Avenue;

Hamilton


Hamilton events affecting transit services this weekend are: a Canadian Football League game (November 13); the Remembrance Day Parade (November 13); and Shalom Village Hustle for Health (November 13).


Canadian Football League game
All Hamilton Street Railway routes

You can ride any HSR bus free of fare to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Eastern Conference Semi-Final game against the Edmonton Eskimos, Sunday, November 13 at 1 p.m. — if you hold a valid ticket to the game.

With the HSR’s Ticket to Ride program, you can ride free of fare to Tim Horton’s Field for as much as two hours before game time and free of fare from the stadium until the end of service.

2 Barton

Buses serve all local stops between the Hamilton GO Centre, downtown Hamilton and Barton Street East at Lenister Avenue North — just one block north of Tim Hortons Field.

3 Cannon

Buses serve all local stops between the Hamilton GO Centre, downtown Hamilton and Cannon Street East at Balsam Avenue North — just south of Tim Hortons Field.

Tiger-Cats Express shuttles

From about 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Sunday, November 13, free HSR shuttle buses also speedily transport ticket-holders from four terminals across the city to the stadium. After the game is over, they’ll shuttle you back again. You can view the schedule for Sunday’s shuttle service here.

The Remembrance Day Parade affects the shuttle buses that usually start their trips on King Street East at Hughson Street North. The HSR is relocating the regular stop to Main Street East and John Street South (southwest corner, the regular 10 B-Line express top) for all pre-game shuttles, not just during the parade and ceremonies.

Buses returning from Tim Horton’s Field operate along their regular route to King Street East and Wellington Street, then detour:

southward along Wellington South;
westward along Hunter Street East;
northward along James Street South; and then
eastward along Main Street East to John Street South,
ending their trips.

Shuttle buses resume regular service to King East and Hughson North after the game.

Hamilton Remembrance Day Parade and Ceremony

The City of Hamilton is closing

  • John Street South between between King and Main Streets East and
  • King Street East between Catharine and James Streets

Friday morning to accommodate the ceremony and parade.

The parade starts at the James Foote VC Hamilton Armories on James Street North and proceeds to the Cenotaph at Veterans Place in Gore Park. The City is not closing James Street North but the marchers may delay buses operating along the street.

The event affects Burlington Transit, GO Transit and Hamilton Street Railway services in downtown Hamilton.
