TTC plans to revise many routes,
when subway extension opens next year

TTC - current routes near new subway.png

tysse_legend.gif

This map shows the current TTC bus-route network near the future extension of the subway line.

You can preview how the TTC plans to revise its bus network when it extends the 1 Yonge - University subway line to Vaughan next year. And, you can also help plan the new bus network by commenting on-line about the proposals.

The 8.6-kilometre (5.34-mile) Line 1 extension includes six new stations from the present Downsview Station to Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station on Highway 7 west of Jane Street. When the TTC opens the new part of the line late next year, it will also mark the first time that the subway has reached beyond the limits of Toronto — into the City of Vaughan.

tysse_subway_map.gif.png

The TTC is renaming Downsview Station to Sheppard West.

The five new stations are:

  • Downsview Park;
  • Finch West;
  • York University;
  • Pioneer Village;
  • Highway 407; and
  • Vaughan Metropolitan Centre,

When the subway opens, the TTC will no longer operate buses into this part of York Region. Instead, York Region Transit will take over the current service north of Steeles Avenue West along the 35 Jane, 105 Dufferin North, 107 Keele North and 165 Weston Rd North routes.

TTC routes with proposed changes.gif

This map indicates some of the bus routes that the TTC is proposing to change.

In revising its bus routes, TTC planning staff tried, where possible, to make sure connecting routes served the new subway station. With a new subway station opening at the west end of the Harry W. Arthurs Common on York University’s Keele campus, the TTC will no longer provide bus service to the Common. However, buses continue to operate through the campus.

The TTC proposes revising services along these routes:

  • 35A Jane via Hullmar;
  • 35B Jane via Pioneer Village;
  • 35C Jane;
  • 35D Jane;
  • 36 Finch West;
  • 41A / 41B Keele;
  • 41E Keele express;
  • 60 Steeles West;
  • 60E Steeles West express;
  • 60F Steeles West express;
  • 84B Sheppard West;
  • 84C Sheppard West via Arrow;
  • 84D Sheppard West via Oakdale;
  • 84E Sheppard West express;
  • 106 York University;
  • 105 Dufferin North;
  • 107 Keele North;
  • 108 Downsview;
  • 117 Alness;
  • 165 Weston Rd North;
  • 195 Jane rocket;
  • 196 York University rocket;
  • 199B Finch rocket;
  • 335 Jane overnight;
  • 341 Keele overnight; and
  • 353 Steeles overnight.
