Starting 7 a.m. today, Monday, November 21, the City of Hamilton is closing:

  • Duke Street between MacNab and Park Streets South

to accommodate contractors who are operating a crane on the street.

The Hamilton Street Railway is detouring buses operating along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 6 Aberdeen.

Duke Street reopens to traffic and the detour ends 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 23.

**Inbound buses operate along their regular route.

From 7 a.m. Monday, November 21 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, outbound buses operate along their regular route to James Street South and Hunter Street, then detour:

westward along Hunter West; and then
southward along Park Street South to Duke Street,
resuming their regular route southward along Park South.

Outbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on James Street South south of Bold Street and
  • on Duke Street at MacNab and Park Streets South.

Instead, outbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Hunter Street West at MacNab Street South and
  • on Park Street South at Duke Street.

Inbound buses operate toward downtown.

Outbound buses operate away from downtown.
