Toronto Transit Commission
Officially, the TTC says it’s providing “regular weekday service” during the holiday period — from Monday, December 19 until Friday, December 30.
Unofficially, though, we know that, in previous years, the TTC has also decreased the frequency of service along many routes because it expects fewer passengers to be riding transit vehicles during the holidays. This week, “regular weekday” likely really means less frequent service along many bus, streetcar and subway routes, with service levels similar to what it provides July and August.
The TTC operates with holiday schedules Boxing Day, Monday, December 26 and Tuesday, December 27. With holiday schedules, buses, streetcars and trains operate as frequently as Sundays, but start earlier, about 6 a.m.
It’s cancelling extra service to and from high schools from Tuesday, December 27 until Friday, January 6, 2017.
