DRT revises services, January 2



Durham Region Transit is restoring regular service after the holidays and making other minor changes to its services Monday, January 2,


DRT is revising service along these routes: 215 Salem North; 216 Harwood North; 225 Audley North; 303 Garden; 401 Simcoe; 900 PULSE; 910 Campus Connect; 915 Taunton.

Specifically, DRT is: increasing service along routes; decreasing service along a route; increasing the frequency of service along routes; and adjusting the schedules for buses operating along routes.

Increasing service along routes


215 Salem North

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes. DRT again operates buses on extra trips along the route Monday-to-Friday during rush hours.

Starting Monday, January 2, it resumes the southbound bus that leaves Salem Road North north of Kingston Road East at 2:45 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. (The bus ends its trip in Ajax GO Station bus terminal at 2:57 p.m.)

It’s also resuming the northbound bus that leaves Ajax GO Station at 8:20 a.m. (The bus ends its trip on Salem Road North north of Kingston Road West at 8:32 a.m.) And, it’s resuming the bus that leaves the station at 2:40 p.m. (It ends its trip on Salem Road North south of Taunton Road East at 3:01 p.m.)

915 Taunton

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes. DRT again operates buses on extra westbound trips along the route Monday-to-Friday afternoons and early evenings.

Starting Monday, January 2, it’s resumes the westbound buses that leave the North Oshawa campuses of Durham College and the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) at 3:50, 4:55, 5,20, 6:05, 6:35 and 7:10 p.m. (The buses end their trips in Ajax GO Station bus terminal at 4:30, 5:35, 6, 6:40, 7:15 and 7:50 p.m.)

DRT is also increasing the frequency of service along the route.

Decreasing service along a route


910 Campus Connect

Friday, December 30 was the last day DRT operated the northbound bus that usually left Whitby GO Station at 5:50 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. The bus usually ended its trip on the North Oshawa campuses of Durham College and the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) at 6:23 p.m.

Instead, DRT is encouraging passengers to board another bus that also leaves the station at 5:50 p.m. The bus operates along the main 910 branch of the route and ends its trip on the Durham / UOIT campus at 6:27 p.m.

DRT is also increasing the frequency of service along the roue

Increasing the frequency of service along routes


910 Campus Connect

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes.

Starting Monday, January 2, DRT resumes operating buses along the 910B short-turn branch of the route for the holiday season.

By resuming service along the branch, it increases the frequency of service between Oshawa Centre Terminal and Whitby GO Station.

Buses drop off or pick up passengers west of Oshawa Centre Terminal:

  • every 15 minutes, instead of every 30 minutes, Mondays to Fridays from about noon until 6 p.m.

DRT is also decreasing service along the route.

900 PULSE

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes.

Starting Monday, January 2, DRT increases the frequency of service Monday-to-Friday daytime.

Buses again drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 10 minutes or better, instead of every 10 minutes, Mondays to Fridays from about 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Holiday service ends and regular Monday-to-Friday service resumes Monday, January 2, 2017.

DRT is also adjusting the schedules for buses operating along the the route.

915 Taunton

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes.

Starting Monday, January 2, DRT increases the frequency of service Monday-to-Friday midday for the holiday season.

Buses again drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 15 minutes, instead of every 30 minutes, Mondays to Fridays from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

DRT is also increasing service along the route.

Adjusting the schedules for buses operating along routes

225 Audley North

Starting Monday, January 2, the southbound bus that usually leaves Salem Road North south of Taunton Road East at 6:36 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, 10 minutes earlier at 6:26 a.m.

The bus > The bus drops off and picks up passengers at stops along the route as much as ten minutes earlier than usually. It ends its trip in Ajax GO Station bus terminal at 6:58 p.m.

DRT interlines buses operating along the route with those operating along the 216 Harwood North route. The bus arrives on Taunton Road East west of Salem Road North along route 216.

303 Garden

Starting Monday, January 2, the bus that usually leaves Whitby GO Station at 6:55 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, ten minutes earlier at 6:45 a.m. The bus drops off and picks up passengers at stops along the route as much as ten minutes earlier than usually. It returns to the station to end its trip at 7:20 a.m.

216 Harwood North

Starting Monday, January 2, the northbound bus that usually leaves Ajax GO Station at 6:20 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, ten minutes earlier at 6:10 a.m.

The bus drops off and picks up passengers at stops along the route as much as ten minutes earlier than usually. It ends its trip on Taunton Road East west of Salem Road North at 6:26 a.m.

DRT interlines buses operating along the route with those operating along the 225 Audley North route. The bus leaves Salem Road North south of Taunton Road East along route 225.

900 PULSE

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes.

Starting Monday, January 2, DRT adjusts the schedules of buses operating along the route Monday-to-Friday evenings.

Buses start and end their trips and drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route as much as five minutes earlier than they did during the holidays.

DRT is also increasing the frequency of service along the route.

401 Simcoe

Starting Saturday, January 7, DRT adjusts the schedules for buses operating along the route Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Buses start and end their trips as much as seven minutes earlier or later than usually.
