MiWay revises routes and services, January 2



MiWay is revising the paths for two routes into transitway stations, starting Monday, January 2. Starting that day, MiLocal buses operating along the 48 Erin Mills route drop off or pick up passengers in Erin Mills Station, while MiExpress buses operating the 109 Meadowvale express route serve Erin Mills and the new Winston Churchill Station.

Starting next Sunday, January 8, MiWay also introduces new Sunday service along the 109 Meadowvale express route and the entire Mississauga Transitway.

Introducing a new route


341 Ninth Line - Thomas high school special

Starting Monday, January 9, MiWay buses operate along this new high school special route, serving passengers travelling to and from Stephen Lewis Secondary School and St. Joan of Arc Catholic Secondary School.

Monday-to-Friday school-day mornings at 8 and 8:33 a.m., the buses start their trips on Eglinton Avenue West east of Churchill Boulevard, then proceed:

westward along Eglinton West;
northward along Ninth Line;
eastward along McDowell Drive;
southward along Tenth Line; and then
westward along Thomas Street, passing the Steven Lewis Secondary School and St. Joan of Arc Secondary School, to Churchill Meadows Boulevard,
ending their trips at 8:12 and 8:45 a.m.

Morning buses pick up passengers at stops:

  • on Eglinton Avenue West at Churchill Meadows Boulevard and west of Intrepid Drive (Buses operating along route 35 also serve this stop),
  • on Ninth Line at Skyview Street and north of Quiet Creek Drive (Buses operating along route 35 also serve this stop),
  • on Ninth Line at Henrietta Way, TACC Drive and the walkway to Arborview Terrace (these are new stops),
  • on Ninth Line at Lacman Trail (buses operating along route 49 also serve this stop),
  • on McDowell Drive at Swordsman Drive, Yachtsman’s Crossing and Churchill Meadows Boulevard (Buses operating along route 49 also serve these stops),

School-day afternoons at 2:40 and 3:25 p.m., the buses start their trips on Thomas Street across from Passion Flower Boulevard, then proceed:

westward along Thomas;
southward along Churchill Meadows Boulevard;
westward along Eglinton Avenue West; and then
northward along Ninth Line to McDowell Drive,
ending their trips at 2:55 and 3:35 p.m.

Afternoon buses drop off passengers at stops

  • on Thomas Street across from Passion Flower Boulevard and at Ninth Line (Buses operating along routes 49 and 321 also serve these stops),

Increasing service along routes


3 Bloor

Starting Monday, January 9, MiWay again operates the westbound MiLocal bus that usually leaves Bloor Street East east of Tomken Road at 2:48 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The bus ends its trip in City Centre Terminal at 3:07 p.m.

MiWay is also decreasing the frequency of service along the route.

10 Bristol - Britannia

Starting Monday, January 9, MiWay again operates the northbound MiLocal bus that usually leaves Bristol Road West west of Hurontario Street at 2:37 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The bus ends its trip in Meadowvale Town Centre Terminal at 3:15 p.m.

MiWay is also decreasing service along the route.

8 Cawthra

Starting Monday, January 9, MiWay again operates the southbound MiLocal bus that usually leaves City Centre Terminal at 7:53 a.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The bus ends its trip in Port Credit GO Station bus terminal at 8:32 a.m. It’s also again operating the southbound bus that usually leaves Cawthra Road south of Arbor Road at 3:15 p.m. The bus ends its trip in Port Credit at 3:24 p.m.

That same day, it again operates the northbound buses that usually leave Cawthra south of Arbor at 3:10, 3:11 and 3:13 p.m. The buses end their trips in City Centre Terminal at 3:36, 3:37 and 3:39 p.m.

57 Courtneypark

MiWay is increasing service along the route by operating a bus on new southbound trip early Monday-to-Friday mornings.

Starting Monday, January 2, the bus leaves Meadowvale Town Centre terminal at 6:41 a.m. It ends its trip in Islington Station bus terminal at 7:59 a.m.

38 Creditview

Starting Monday, January 2, MiWay again operates the southbound MiLocal bus that usually leaves Creditview Road north of Highbrooke Avenue at 2:24 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The bus ends its trip on Glengarry Road south of Dundas Street West at 2:46 p.m.

6 Credit Woodlands

Starting Monday, January 2, MiWay again operates the eastbound MiLocal buses that leave McBride Avenue east of Erindale Station Road at 2:56 and 3:02 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The buses end their trips in City Centre Terminal at 3:26 and 3:30 p.m.

13 Glen Erin

Starting Monday, January 9, MiWay again operates the northbound MiLocal bus that usually leaves Southdown Road south of Truscott Drive at 2:25 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The bus ends its trip in South Common Centre terminal at 2:38 p.m.

That same day it again operates operates the northbound buses that usually leave Glen Erin Drive south of Eglinton Avenue West at 2:27 and 2:28 p.m. The buses end their trips in Meadowvale Town Centre terminal at 2:51 and 2:52 p.m.

MiWay is also adjusting the schedules for buses operating along the route.

14 Lorne Park

Starting Monday, January 9, MiWay again operates the eastbound MiLocal buses that usually leave Truscott Drive west of Lorne Park Road at 2:48 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. The buses end their trips in Port Credit GO Station bus terminal at 3:04 p.m.

That same day it again operates the westbound bus that usually leaves Port Credit GO Station at 3:25 p.m. It ends its trip on Southdown Road north of Bromsgrove Road at 3:46 p.m.

107 Malton express

Starting Monday, January 2, holiday service ends and regular Monday-to-Friday service resumes.

Buses again operate to and from Humber College’s North Campus.

MiWay is also increasing the frequency of service along the route.

109 Meadowvale express

Starting Sunday, January 8, MiWay introduces Sunday-and-holiday service along the route. It’s using six buses to drop off or pick up passengers every 22 minutes from about 7:30 a.m. until 11 p.m.

With this change, MiWay also introduces Sunday-and-holiday service the entire Mississauga Transitway.

Starting Monday, January 2, MiWay is also revising the path so that buses operate through Erin Mills and Winston Churchill transitway stations.

Southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at new stops (for this route)

108 Meadowvale Business express

MiWay is increasing service along the route by operating a bus on new northbound trip early Monday-to-Friday mornings.

Starting Monday, January 2, the bus leaves Islington Station at 6:02 a.m. It ends its trip on Argentia Road west of Creditview Road at 6:40 a.m.

29 Park Royal - Homelands

Starting Monday, January 9, MiWay again operates the southbound MiLocal bus that usually leaves Sheridan Centre terminal at 2:21 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The bus ends its trip in Clarkson GO Station bus terminal at 2:49 p.m.

That same day, it again operates the northbound bus that usually leaves Bromsgrove Road east of Constable Road at 2:41 p.m. The bus ends its trip in South Common Centre Terminal at 3:10 p.m.

MiWay is also adjusting the schedules for buses operating along the route.

20 Rathburn

Starting Monday, January 9, MiWay again operates the westbound MiLocal buses that usually leave Rathburn Road East east of Willowbank Trail at 2:28, 2:29 and 2:30 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The buses end their trips in City Centre Terminal at 2:38, 2:39 and 2:40 p.m.

MiWay is also adjusting the schedules for buses operating along the route.

51 Tomken

Starting Monday, January 9, MiWay again operates the southbound MiLocal buses that usually leave Tomken Road south of Eglinton Avenue East at 2:15, 2:16 and 2:20 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The buses end their trips on Stanfield Road north of Middlegate Road at 2:32, 2:33 and 2:37 p.m.

That same day it again operates the northbound bus that usually leaves Tomken Road just north of Dundas Street East at 7:36 a.m. It ends its trip on Lorimar Drive south of Cardiff Boulevard at 8:10 a.m.

45 Winston Churchill

MiWay is increasing service along the route by operating buses on a later trip in each direction late Monday-to-Friday evenings.

Starting Monday, January 2, the last southbound bus leaves Meadowvale Town Centre terminal at 10:35 p.m. It ends its trip in Clarkson GO Station bus terminal at 11:11 p.m.

The last northbound bus leaves Clarkson at 11:20 p.m. It ends its trip in Meadowvale at 11:55 p.m.

MiWay is also adjusting the schedules for buses operating along the route.

Decreasing service along routes


10 Bristol - Britannia

New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1 is the last day that MiWay buses drop off or pick up passengers at the southbound stop on Miller’s Grove at Chamberlain Court and the northbound stop on Miller’s Grove at Bartholomew Crescent. Few passengers were boarding or exiting buses at these stops.

Instead, MiWay is encouraging passengers to board and exit buses at the nearby south- and northbound stops on Miller’s Grove at Colebrook Crescent.

MiWay is also increasing service along the route.

109 Meadowvale express

Starting Monday, January 2, MiWay is also revising the path so that buses operate through Erin Mills and Winston Churchill transitway stations.

Southbound buses no longer drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on Erin Centre Boulevard east of Winston Churchill Boulevard (MiWay buses operating along routes 34, 46 and 49 continue to serve this stop),
  • on Erin Centre Boulevard east of Glen Erin Drive (MiWay buses operating along routes 13, 34, 46 and 49 continue to serve this stop) and
  • on Erin Mills Parkway south of Eglinton Avenue West (MiWay buses operating along routes 46, 48 and 67 continue to serve this stop).

Northbound buses no longer serve passengers at stops

  • on Erin Mills Parkway north of Credit Valley Road (MiWay buses operating along routes 46, 48 and 67 and GO buses operating along routes 21 and 45 continue to serve this stop).
  • on Erin Centre Boulevard beside John Fraser Secondary School (MiWay buses operating along routes 13, 34, 46 and 49 continue to serve this stop) and

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes. However, MiWay is operating one more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service Monday-to-Friday daytime. Service levels are higher than they were before the holidays.

Starting Monday, January 2, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 10 minutes, instead of every 13 minutes, Mondays to Fridays during rush hours; and
  • every 13 minutes, instead of every 16 minutes, from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
4 Sherway Gardens

MiWay is increasing the frequency of service along the route Monday-to-Friday midday.

Starting Monday, January 2, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 25 minutes, instead of every 36 minutes, Mondays to Fridays from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

MiWay is also revising the path for buses operating along the route.

110 University express

Starting Monday, January 2, holiday service ends and regular service resumes. MiWay again operates more short-turning buses between the University of Toronto’s Mississauga campus and City Centre Terminal.

Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops east of the campus:

  • about every 13 minutes, instead of every 16 minutes, from about 8 until 10 a.m. and from about 2 until 8 p.m.

3 Bloor

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes.

However, MiWay is operating one less bus along the route to maintain some of the holiday service levels, decreasing the frequency of service Monday-to-Friday daytime.

Starting Monday, January 2, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 10 minutes, instead of every 9 minutes, Mondays to Fridays during rush hours; and
  • every 16 minutes, instead of every 14 minutes, from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

MiWay is also increasing service along the route.

48 Erin Mills

Buses start operating through Erin Mills Transitway Station.

westward along the transitway, looping at the west end of the station;
eastward along the transitway; and then

4 Sherway Gardens

MiWay has been detouring buses operating along the route due to bridge construction on Paisley Boulevard East since Monday, October 24.

Construction continues for the long-term, so MiWay is making the detour routing the permanent path for buses operating along the route.
