Making other changes to service

Aurora - Oak Ridge dial-a-ride

Starting Monday, January 9, YRT expands the boundary of the Aurora and Oak Ridges Dial-a-Ride area Monday-to-Friday evenings to include the area that buses operaring along the 31 Aurora North serve before 7 p.m.

DAR_OakRidges_AuroraSouth.jpg

YRT offers the Aurora and Oak Ridges Dial-a-Ride service Mondays to Fridays from 9:30 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. and from 6:30 until 10:45 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. until 6:45 p.m.

The dial-a-ride service lets you travel directly between YRT or Viva stops within the geographic area. This means Dial-a-Ride vehicles for Routes 31, 32 and 84 may operate freely within the area to get you to any YRT/Viva stop instead of following the fixed route.

To book a ride during dial-a-ride hours, call 1-844-667-5327 at least an hour before your trip. Customer service representatives will help you book trips and provide the best available travel plans. A YRT- /Viva-marked vehicle will drop you off at the stop you asked for within the area. However, you may have to wait as long as an hour to allow the dial-a-ride vehicle to complete other trips. Dial-a-Ride service operates first-come, first-served.

Regular YRT / Viva fares apply. The driver can accept all YRT / Viva fare media including the PRESTO fare-card, tickets, passes, and exact change. He or she will also issue a transfers if you ask for one. (PRESTO is only available on dial-a-ride for Routes 32 and 84 only.)
