Mississauga Transitway connection to Highway 407:
Open houses, March 2 and 6

You can learn more about “the 407 West Connection project”, a plan to extend the Mississauga Transitway further west.

The current configuration of the Highway 403 / Highway 407 interchange does not allow buses entering Highway 403 from Winston Churchill Boulevard to access Highway 407 westbound. The project would improve bus service efficiency by building a new, dedicated busway from the Winston Churchill Station to the westbound lanes of the 407.

Metrolinx and GO Transit are hosting two open house events about their plans:

Both events take place from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. in Loyola Catholic Secondary School, 4010 Sladeview Crescent, Mississauga, near Ridgeway Drive and Burnhamthorpe Road West.

Metrolinx has not yet revealed details of this connection. Note that early plans for the transitway included a station at Ridgeway.

Getting there by public transit

  • (It’s difficult.)
  • MiWay buses operating along the 47 Ridgeway route to either Burnhamthorpe Road West and Ridgeway Drive or Ridgeway at Drummond Road — both stops across from the school. Note, however that all service along the route ends by 7 p.m.
  • MiWay buses operating along the 37 Colonial route to Colonial Drive and Burnhamthorpe Road West. Although Colonial is just one street east of Ridgeway, it’s really the equivalent of six blocks east. These buses continue later evenings.
