Steeles Avenue Milton construction:
Milton Transit delays start April 3



Update — Sunday, December 10, 5:37 a.m.: From Monday, December 11 until Sunday, December 17, the Region and Town close the street to all traffic. Milton Transit detours buses during the closure. Starting Monday, December 18, the road reopens to traffic. However, construction on Steeles Avenue East and the Milton Transit delays continue until further notice.

Monday, April 3, Region of Halton contractors start a project to widen and rebuild

  • Steeles Avenues West and East (Regional Road 8) between 400 metres west of Industrial Drive and Martin Street (Regional Road 25).

During the project, the region expands the street from a two-lane rural road to a four-lane urban highway. Motorists and passengers riding Milton Transit buses operating along the 1A / 1B Industrial route should expect major delays. Milton Transit may also temporarily relocate bus stops.

(Updated — Tuesday, November 29, 7:19 p.m.) Construction on Steeles Avenue East and the Milton Transit delays continue until November 30 December 17.
