Starting Sunday, April 23, a TTC contractor is using a generator to power Roncesvalles Carhouse to maintain regular operations during a project to upgrade the electrical supply.

A low-noise generator is providing temporary power for about one week while crews install new permanent electrical feeds to the carhouse. Area residents may notice more noise.

The contractor is situating the generator as far as possible from residential properties to reduce disrupting area residents. The generator also performs at low-decibel levels.

Since the carhouse supports 24-hour transit service, the generator is operate continuously until Sunday, April 30.

The work has no impact on streetcar operations.
