TransSee is a web application that provides real-time bus tracking and next-vehicle predictions for most of North America’s largest transit systems, including the TTC.
TransSee is a web application that runs on any browser, so it supports all smart phones, including BlackBerry and Windows Phone and any other device with a web browser from Macs and PCs to smart TVs. It even works on SwatchWatch browsers. TransSee leverages data from transit agencies to provide as much information as possible.
Since Transit Toronto last posted about TransSee its developer has added several features. TransSee now supports York Region Transit, MiWay, the Hamilton Street Railway, Grand River Transit, the TTC subways and GO Transit trains. A new feature shows the locations of all vehicles currently operating along a route.
TransSee features include:
- To-the-second predictions;
- Predictions for multiple stops of your choice, even across agencies;
- Nearest stops by global positioning system (GPS) and direction of travel;
- Information on the next or previous stop on a route;
- Close-up vicinity maps for terminals;
- Off-route vehicle locations and the nearest stops;
- Gap times and scheduled headways between vehicles;
- Statistics on gaps and headways;
- Information about how far each vehicle is behind (or ahead of) schedule;
- Alternative schedule-based predictions;
- Vehicle locations by fleet number;
- Vehicle locations by route; and
- Vehicle run numbers.
