Eglinton East hydro-bank repairs:
TTC detours, June 2 and 3



The City of Toronto is closing:

  • Eglinton Avenue East between Holly and Yonge Streets

from 8 p.m. tonight, Friday, June 2 until 6 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, June 3, while Toronto Hydro crews conduct emergency repairs to a hydro bank under the street.

The TTC is detouring buses operating along these routes, while the street is closed:

  • 34 Eglinton East;
  • 51 Leslie;
  • 54 Lawrence East;
  • 56 Leaside;
  • 334 Eglinton East overnight; and
  • 354 Lawrence East overnight.

Most of these buses are already detouring to accommodate Metrolinx contractors working on the project to build the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line.


34 Eglinton East

From 8 p.m. Friday, June 2 until 6 a.m. Saturday, June 3, westbound buses operate along their regular route to Eglinton Avenue East and Redpath Avenue, then detour:

northward along Redpath;
westward along Broadway Avenue;
southward along Yonge Street;
westward along Berwick Avenue; and then
northward into Eglinton Station bus terminal,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Eglinton Avenue East across from Dunfield Avenue.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Redpath Avenue north of Yonge Street and at Roehampton and Broadway Avenues and
  • on Yonge Street at Orchard View Boulevard and south of Eglinton Avenue West.

Eastbound buses start their trips in Eglinton Station bus terminal, as usually, then proceed:

eastward along Berwick and Soudan Avenues; and then
northward along Redpath Avenue to Eglinton Avenue East,
resuming their regular route eastward along Eglinton.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Duplex Avenue at Eglinton Avenue West and
  • on Eglinton Avenue East at Dunfield and Redpath Avenues.

334 Eglinton East overnight

Saturday, June 3, westbound buses operate along their regular route to Eglinton Avenue East and Redpath Avenue, then detour:

northward along Redpath;
westward along Broadway Avenue;
southward along Yonge Street;
westward along Berwick Avenue; and then
northward into Eglinton Station bus terminal,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Redpath Avenue north of Yonge Street and at Roehampton and Broadway Avenues and
  • on Eglinton Avenue East across from Dunfield Avenue.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Yonge Street at Orchard View Boulevard and south of Eglinton Avenue West.

Eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Duplex Avenue and Eglinton Avenue West, then detour:

northward along Duplex;
eastward along Orchard View Boulevard;
southward along Yonge Street;
eastward along Roehampton Avenue; and then
southward along Redpath Avenue to Eglinton Avenue East,
resuming their regular route eastward along Eglinton East.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Eglinton Avenue East at Dunfield and Redpath Avenues.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Redpath Avenue at Eglinton Avenue East.

From 8 p.m. Friday, June 2 until 6 a.m. Saturday, June 3, westbound buses operate along their regular route to Eglinton Avenue East and Redpath Avenue, then detour:

northward along Redpath;

westward along Berwick Avenue; and then
northward into Eglinton Station bus terminal,
ending their trips.
