Dorval Drive water-main construction:
Oakville Transit detour starts June 18

Starting 8 p.m. Sunday, June 18, the Region of Halton and the Town of Oakville are closing:

  • Dorval Drive (Regional Road 17) between Wyecroft and Speers Roads

overnight from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. during a regional project to install a trunk water-main, as part a larger project on Speers Road between Dorval and Kerr Street.

Oakville Transit is detouring buses operating along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 28 Glen Abbey North.


Most of the construction on Dorval Drive and the Oakville Transit detour ends 5 a.m. June 23.

Construction continues to block the stop on the northeast corner of Speers Road and Dorval Drive until August 14.

From 8 p.m. Sunday, June 18 until 5 a.m. Monday, June 19 and continuing overnight nightly until 5 a.m. Friday, June 23, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Dorval Drive and Wyecroft Road, then detour:

eastward along Wyecroft; and then
southward along Kerr Street to Speers Road,
resuming their regular route eastward along Speers.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Dorval Drive south of Wyecroft Road and
  • on Speers Road east of Dorval Drive, across from Woody Road and at Kerr Street.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Wyecroft Road across from Sinclair Road and beside #220 Wyecroft and
  • on Kerr Street south of Wyecroft Road and across from Shepherd Road.

Westbound buses reverse the eastbound detour routing.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Speers Road west of Kerr Street and at Woody Road and Dorval Drive and
  • on Dorval Road at Wyecroft Road.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Kerr Street at Shepherd Road and across from Wyecroft Road,
  • on Wyecroft Road beside #225 Wyecroft and at Sinclair Road.
