Chatham Street Hamilton construction:
HSR detour, August 11



From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Friday, August 11, the City of Hamilton is closing:

  • Chatham Street between Dundurn and Locke Streets South,

as crews repair the water-main.

The Hamilton Street Railway is detouring buses operating along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 7 Locke.

The City previously closed Chatham to repair the water-mains and the HSR detoured buses Thursday, June 22.


7 Locke

From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Friday, August 11, inbound buses operate along their regular route to Dundurn Street South and Chatham Street, then detour:

northward along Dundurn South;
eastward along Melbourne Street to Locke Street South,
resuming their regular route northward along Locke South.

Inbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Chatham Street beside #47 Chatham and at Locke Street South.

Instead, inbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Dundurn Street South at Chatham Street.

Outbound buses operate along their regular route.


Inbound buses operate toward downtown.

Outbound buses operate away from downtown.
