Brampton Transit revises routes and services, September 5



Brampton Transit continues to expand its services, reflecting Brampton’s continued growth in size and population.

The big news for this September service change, starting Tuesday, September 5 is that BT is introducing the new limited-stop 104 Chinguacousy express route between Mount Pleasant GO Station and Brampton Gateway Terminal. Buses serving the new route operate mostly on Chinguacousy Road and drop off or pick up passengers at certain stops every 20 minutes Mondays to Fridays during rush hours — and only from September until April each year.

BT is also increasing rush-hour service along a new 501C Züm Queen “via Highway 407” branch of the main Züm Queen route also during rush hours and only from September until April.

Brampton Transit also increases service along a number of other routes this fall and resumes extra services to universities, colleges and high schools.

Introducing a new route


104 Chinguacousy express

Chinguacousy Road passengers can benefit from new limited-stop service between Mount Pleasant GO Station and Brampton Gateway Terminal along the new 104 Chinguacousy express route.

Buses operating along the new route drop off or pick up passengers at stops every 20 minutes Mondays to Fridays during rush hours from September until April each year.

Starting Tuesday, September 5, southbound buses start their trips in Mount Pleasant GO Station bus, then proceed:

southward along Lagerfield Drive;
eastward along Bovaird Drive West;
southward along Chinguacousy Road;
eastward along Steeles Avenue West; and then
northward into Brampton Gateway Terminal,
ending their trips.

Southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • in Mount Pleasant GO Station bus terminal,
  • on Bovaird Drive West west of Lake Louise Drive,
  • on Chinguacousy Road at Williams Parkway West, across from Major William Sharpe Drive, south of Queen Street West and Bonnie Braes and Dusk Drives,
  • on Steeles Avenue West east of Mavis Road, Sheridan College Drive and Malta Avenue and
  • in Brampton Gateway Terminal.

Northbound buses start their trips in Brampton Gateway Terminal, then proceed:

southward along Main Street South;
westward along Steeles Avenue West;
southward along Sheridan College Boulevard;
westward along the college access road to Sheridan College Terminal,
northward along McLaughlin Road South;
westward along Steeles West;
northward along Chinguacousy Road;
westward along Bovaird Drive West; and then
northward along Lagerfield Drive into Mount Pleasant GO Station terminal,
ending their trips.

Northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • in Brampton Gateway Terminal,
  • on Steeles Avenue West at McMurchy Avenue South,
  • in Sheridan College Terminal,
  • on Steeles Avenue West at Chinguacousy Road,
  • on Chinguacousy Road north of Drinkwater Road and Sterritt Drive, at Queen Street West, north of Major Sharpe Drive and Williams Parkway West,
  • on Bovaird Drive West at Worthington Avenue and
  • in Mount Pleasant GO Station.

Introducing new branches of routes


501 Züm Queen

Brampton Transit is introducing the new 501C branch of the route, increasing service along the east end of the route Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

Starting Tuesday, September 5, Buses operate along the new branch between Bramalea Terminal and York University’s Keele campus only from September until April each year.

BT is also adjusting the schedules for buses operating along the route.

511 Züm Steeles

Brampton Transit is introducing the new 511C branch of the route, extending the path of buses serving the short-turn 511A branch Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

Starting Tuesday, September 5, buses operate along the new branch between Sheridan College’s Davis campus and Humber College’s North campus only from September until April each year. The new 511C service replaces the regular 511A service during rush hours. Buses continue to operate along the 511A branch of the route between Brampton Gateway Terminal and Humber at all other times of the week.

Buses serving the 511C branch drop off or pick up passengers at Züm stations

  • every 15 minutes from about 6:30 until 10 a.m. and from about 3 until 7 p.m.Mondays to Fridays.

Buses serving both the 511 and 511C branches serve passengers at Züm stations east of Sheridan:

  • every 7½ minutes.

BT is also increasing service along the route.

Brampton Transit is extending the path for buses operating along the main branch of the route north of Countryside Drive to Inspire Boulevard.

Starting Tuesday, September 5, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at new stops (for this route)

  • on Inspire Boulevard east of Dixie Road and at Fingertree Road,
  • on Russell Creek Drive at St. Dennis Road, south of Dolbyhill Road and at Countryside Drive,
  • on Countryside Drive at Blackstone River Drive and
  • on Dixie Road south of Countryside Drive and at Templehill Road.

The stops on Inspire and Russell Creek are new Brampton Transit stops - receiving transit service for the first time. Buses operating along the 19 Fernforest route also drop off or pick up passengers at the stops on Countryside and Dixie.

Northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at new stops

  • on Dixie Road at Dolbyhill Road and
  • on Inspire Boulevard East of Dixie Road.

These are new Brampton Transit stops - receiving transit service for the first time.

Brampton Transit operates a buses on new trips in each direction early Saturday mornings.

Starting Saturday, September 9, a new northbound bus leaves Martin Byrne Drive north of Bering Road at 8:53 a.m. Saturdays. It ends its trip on Squire Ellis Road west of The Gore Road at 8:55 a.m.

A new southbound bus leaves Squire Ellis west of The Gore at 8:56 a.m. It ends its trip on The Gore Road north of Queen Street East at 9:27 a.m.

The northbound bus that usually starts its trip on Martin Byrne north of Bering at 9:58 a.m. starts, instead on The Gore north of Queen East at 9:27 a.m. It leaves Martin Byrne north Bering at 9:59 a.m. It ends its trip on Squire Ellis west of The Gore at 9:59 a.m.

Brampton Transit operates buses on new trips in each direction Monday-to-Friday evenings.

The new northbound bus leaves Mount Pleasant Village Terminal at 7:55 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. It ends its trip on Creditview Road north of Wanless Drive at 8:10 p.m. The new southbound bus leaves Creditview / Wanless at 8:11 p.m. It ends its trip in Mount Pleasant Village Terminal at 8:19 p.m.

Brampton Transit is operating buses on new trips along the route or extending trips to start or end in Lisgar GO Station bus terminal, instead of Brampton Gateway Terminal. (BT designates buses operating between Lisgar and Humber College Terminal as serving the main 11 branch of the route. Buses operating between Brampton Gateway and Humber serve the 11A branch.)

Starting Saturday, September 9, the eastbound bus that usually ends its trip in Humber College Terminal at 6:21 p.m. Saturdays, continues to Lisgar. It leaves Brampton Gateway at 6:23 p.m. and ends its trip in Lisgar GO Station bus terminal at 6:44 p.m.

Starting Sunday, September 10, BT operates a bus on a new eastbound trip along the route early Sunday-and-holiday mornings. The bus leaves Humber College Terminal at 7:09 a.m. It ends its trip in Brampton Gateway Terminal at 7:45 a.m.

Also, the eastbound bus that usually ends its trip in Humber College Terminal at 6:19 p.m. Sundays and holidays, continues to Lisgar. It leaves Brampton Gateway at 6:21 p.m. and ends its trip in Lisgar GO Station bus terminal at 6:44 p.m.

Starting Tuesday, September 5, Buses operate along the new branch between Bramalea Terminal and York University’s Keele campus only from September until April each year. They also only operate in the peak direction — eastbound during morning rush hours and westbound during afternoon rush hours.

Eastbound buses start their trips in Bramalea Terminal, then proceed:

eastward along Peel Centre Drive;
northward along Central Park Drive;
eastward along Queen Street East and York Region Highway 7;
southward along Provincial Highway 427;
eastward along Provincial Highway 407;
southward along Keele Street;
westward along York Boulevard; and then
northward along Ian Macdonald Boulevard to just north of The Chimneystack Road,
ending their trips.

Eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at these Züm stations:

The new eastbound bus leaves Brampton Gateway Terminal at 11:50 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. It ends its trip in Humber College Terminal at 12:22 a.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays. The new westbound bus leaves Humber at 12:03 a.m. It ends its trip in Brampton Gateway Terminal at 12:33 a.m.

18 Dixie

Brampton Transit is extending the path for buses operating along the main branch of the route north of Countryside Drive to Inspire Boulevard.

Starting Tuesday, September 5, southbound operating along the 18 Dixie route no longer serve stops

  • on Countryside Drive [eastbound] east of Dixie Road and at Moira Creek and Fernforest Drives,
  • on Fernforest Drive south of Abitibi Lake Drive and at Father Tobin Road and
  • on Father Tobin Road east of Moira Creek Drive.

Buses operating along the 19 Fernforest route continue to drop off or pick up passengers at the stops on Countryside and Fernforest. Buses operating along the 33 Peter Robertson route continue to serve the stop on Father Tobin.

Northbound buses no longer drop off passengers at a stop

  • on Countryside Drive east of Dixie Road.

Buses operating along the 19 Fernforest route continue to drop off or pick up passengers at the stop.

Starting Tuesday, September 5, the northbound bus that usually leaves Queen Street West west of Chinguacousy Road at 6:15 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, nine minutes earlier at 6:06 a.m. The bus drops off or picks up passengers at stops along the route as much as nine minutes earlier than usually. It ends its trip in Mount Pleasant GO Station bus terminal at 6:26 a.m.

The southbound bus that usually leaves Mount Pleasant GO Station at 6:48 p.m. leaves, instead, four minutes later at 6:52 p.m. The bus drops off or picks up passengers as much as four minutes earlier than usually. It ends its trip on Queen Street West west of Chinguacousy Road at 7:12 p.m.
