During this project, crews are

  • removing and replacing concrete curbs and gutters through most of the project areas;
  • excavating the roadway with the roadway-rebuilding area, replacing the concrete base, then placing new asphalt;
  • grinding the asphalt surface in the resurfacing area and placing new surface-course asphalt;
  • rebuilding sidewalks and widening them to 1.8 metres;
  • removing most asphalt boulevards and replacing them with grass; and
  • restoring the areas that construction affected.

The TTC may relocate bus stops near work zones. Passengers aboard buses along this route can also expect delays:

  • 17 Birchmount.

Construction on this part of Birchmount Road and the resulting TTC service changes continue until December 30.
