James Street North Hamilton construction:
HSR detours, September 19 to 23



From 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 19 until 6 a.m. Wednesday, September 20 and continuing overnight nightly, the City of Hamilton is closing:

  • James Street North between Mulberry and Cannon Streets

during a project to install new sewers.

The Hamilton Street Railway is detouring buses operating along these routes, while the streets are closed:

  • 2 Barton;
  • 4 Bayfront; and
  • 20 A-Line express.

Overnight construction on James Street North and the HSR detours continue until 6 a.m. Saturday, September 23


20 A-Line express

Inbound buses operate along their regular route.

From 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 19 until 6 a.m. Wednesday, September 20 and continuing overnight nightly until 6 a.m. Saturday, September 23, outbound buses operate along their regular route to James Street North and Mulberry Street, then detour:

westward along Mulberry;
southward along MacNab Street North; and then
eastward along Vine Street to James North,
resuming their regular route southward along James.

Outbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on James Street North south of Cannon Street West.

From 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 19 until 6 a.m. Wednesday, September 20 and continuing overnight nightly until 6 a.m. Saturday, September 23, inbound buses operate along their regular route to James Street North and Mulberry Street, then detour:

westward along Mulberry;
southward along MacNab Street North; and then
eastward along Vine Street to James North,
resuming their regular route southward along James.

Inbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on James Street North south of Cannon Street West.

Outbound buses operate along their regular route.


Inbound buses operate toward downtown.

Outbound buses operate away from downtown.
