TTC closing an elevator at Kennedy Station,
starting October 2

The TTC is overhauling the elevators at Kennedy Station and replacing key components, including the pistons, main controller and pumps.

Starting Monday, October 2, the TTC is closing the elevator connecting the Line 2 Bloor - Danforth subway platform with the fare concourse at Kennedy Station.

During the overhaul project, passengers at Kennedy Station who require an elevator to access the subway platform must board buses to travel to Main Street or Victoria Park stations.

Eastbound passengers at Kennedy Station must board:

  • buses operating along the 20 Cliffside or 113 Danforth routes to Main Street Station. The TTC has added extra service to accommodate passengers during this project.
  • buses operating along the 12 Kingston Rd route to Victoria Park Station.

Kennedy Station will remain accessible between the street, the fare concourse, the bus terminal and and Line 3 Scarborough during construction.

This phase of the elevator overhaul project continues until January. Then, the TTC starts working on the elevator between the street level and the concourse until March. Elevator access between street level and the concourse will still be available from the GO Transit bus terminal entrance.
