Toronto and Metrolinx host public meetings
on SmartTrack plan, October 10, 11, 12

The City of Toronto, Metrolinx and the TTC are planning to bring more transit to communities across the city. Next week, they are hosting public meetings to provide you with information about the new SmartTrack / GO stations they propose to build in Toronto and to get your feedback on their plans.

These new stations build upon Metrolinx’s regional express rail program, which includes more service on five of GO Transit’s rail corridors.

In Toronto, the SmartTrack plan leads to six new stations on the Stouffville, Lakeshore East and Kitchener corridors, while Metrolinx intends to build two new GO stations on the Barrie corridor.

The City and Metrolinx are undertaking a formal transit project assessment process to determine the potential environmental effects of the new stations. During this round of public consultation, they’ll update you on the progress of the project and review the environmental studies and concept schematics. They want your input on the proposals and key elements of the project.
