Streetcars return to Queen East, October 15

City of Toronto and TTC contractors have finished the project to replace the water-main and the streetcar tracks at the intersection of Queen Street East with Coxwell Avenue.

Starting 5 a.m. Sunday, October 15, streetcars operating along the 301 Queen overnight and 501 Queen routes resume regular service between Neville Park and Sunnyside loops.

The TTC no longer operates buses along the 301R / 501R Queen / River shuttle route.

Construction on The Queensway and Lake Shore Boulevard West and through Humber Loop requires the TTC to continue to operate buses west of Sunnyside.

Buses operating along the 22 / 22A Coxwell route resumed regular service through the intersection 5 a.m. Thursday, October 5. Buses operating along the 322 Coxwell overnight route resumed regular service early Friday, October 6.

The TTC continues to operate buses, instead of streetcars, along the 502 Downtowner and 503 Kingston Rd route due to an ongoing shortage of streetcars.

Construction at Queen East / Coxwell and the TTC detours started Monday, July 31.

Also starting Sunday, October 15, the TTC is again detouring streetcars operating along the 301 Queen overnight and 501 Queen routes during construction at Queen Street West and McCaul Street.
