YRT detour in Newmarket, October 28 to 30

Metrolinx and York Region contractors continue the project to build a rapidway — bus-only lanes in the centre of the roadway — along Yonge Street in Newmarket.

Starting 7 p.m. Friday, October 27 noon, Saturday, October 28, the Town of Newmarket is closing:

  • Mulock Drive west of Yonge Street

to accommodate the contractors who are rebuilding and paving the roadway and painting lines on the new road surface to support the future rapidway.

York Region Transit is detouring buses operating along this route, while the street is closed:

Construction on Mulock Drive and the YRT detour continue until 7 a.m. October 30.

Westbound buses operate along their regular route.

From 7 p.m. Friday, October 27 noon Saturday, October 28 until 7 a.m. Monday, October 30, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Clearmeadow Boulevard at Doubletree Lane, then detour:

eastward along Clearmeadow; and then
